Rachel Arbitman
The Hewlett sophomore was Newsday’s Girls Tennis Player of the Year, capping an undefeated season by winning the state singles title.
Adam Busiello
The Eastport-South Manor junior became the third Suffolk wrestler to win four state Division I wrestling titles — this one at 126 pounds, going 46-0 in the process.
Sarah Connelly
The Mount Sinai junior, and Newsday’s Runner of the Year for fall, came from behind to win the state cross country championship after winning the state 3,000 meters outdoor track title as a sophomer in the spring.
Aziah Hudson
Now playing at Old Dominion University, Baldwin’s all-time leading scorer led her team to its second state basketball crown in a row last winter.
Henry Martinez
The senior midfielder, Newsday’s Boys Soccer Player of the Year and the state coaches association's New York Player of the Year — led Amityville in an undefeated state championship season.
Liam McIntyre
Won Newsday’s Hansen Award presented to Suffolk’s top football player after leading Westhampton to 22 victories in a row over two seasons. In between, he won the Suffolk 182-pound wrestling title.
Liana McDonnell
The Stanford University-bound senior led Garden City to a 19-0 season and the state field hockey crown.
Logan O’Hoppe
Now a catcher in the Philadelphia Phillies minor-league system, Newsday’s Baseball Player of the Year, from Sayville, hit .467 with three home runs and 22 RBIs for CHSAA champion St. John the Baptist.
Jacori Teemer
Now wrestling for Arizona State, Long Beach’s Teemer became the first Long Islander to win five state individual championships.
