Aki's OT goal leads Eastport-South Manor

Tyler Aki scored the winning goal with 1:44 left in overtime Wednesday as Eastport-South Manor edged Miller Place, 11-10, in Suffolk Division II boys lacrosse.

Aki had five goals and two assists and Pat Kenneally and his brother Tom each had two goals and an assist for ESM (8-5).

ESM led 9-6 after three periods, but Miller Place outscored the Sharks 4-1 in the fourth to force overtime. James Nielsen led Miller Place with two goals and four assists.

Huntington 11, Sayville 7: Dan Plant had four goals and T.J. Greenhill made 16 saves to lead Huntington (9-5) in Division II.

Manhasset 13, Garden City 9: Julia Glynn scored five goals and Halle Majorana added three assists to lead Manhasset (12-4) in Conference 2B.Kellenberg 23, Our Lady of Mercy 9: Senior Sarah Croutier had a career-high 12 points (eight goals, four assists) to lead Kellenberg (4-5) in CHSAA.

St. Dominic 13, Mary Louis Academy 7: Jordan Coyne, Kiera Coyne and Julia LoRusso each scored twice and Katie O'Brien had three goals and three assists as St. Dominic (5-0) stayed undefeated in CHSAA.

BASEBALL

South Side 5, Roslyn 4: Ben Hoefer drove in David Hawley on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the seventh to win it for South Side (13-4) in Nassau Conference A-II. Vinny Tyers scored Eddie Tammaro with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the sixth to tie the score at 4 for South Side. Ed Farington struck out four, scattered four hits and walked one in a complete game for the Cyclones.

BOYS GOLF

Holy Trinity 4.5, St. John the Baptist 2.5: Andrew Rosch shot 1-under 35 and Steve Plezia shot a 36 to lead Holy Trinity (10-2) on the front nine at Eisenhower Park White in CHSAA.

Friends Academy 9, North Shore 0:Christian Fitzgerald shot 1-over 36 to lead Friends Academy (6-3) on the front nine at Nassau Country Club in Nassau Conference II.

Chaminade 3, St. John the Baptist 2: Junior Joe Trancho had a career-high 57 assists, Steven Stratford had 17 kills and five blocks, Mike Walsh had 17 kills and four blocks, and Kevin Joyce had 16 kills and two blocks to lead Chaminade (12-3) to a 25-23, 19-25, 24-26, 25-17, 27-25 win in CHSAA.
