Sophomore Cansu Atali notched a triple-double in her varsity debut with 14 points, 23 rebounds and 10 blocks to help lead Plainedge to a 42-40 overtime victory over Island Trees Monday in a non-league girls basketball season opener. Jessica Forst hit a jumper with 18 seconds left in regulation to force overtime and made two free throws to put Plainedge up by three in the extra session. Michele Daubman added a free throw in the overtime.

Westhampton 35, Sayville 34: Haley Laube made 1 of 2 free throws with 14 seconds left in the fourth quarter to give Westhampton (2-1) a 35-33 lead in non-league. Kristen Polan finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Ciara McKeon scored eight points. Marissa Kahan led Sayville (0-1) with 11 points.

Babylon 43, Half Hollow Hills East 41: Emerald Vickers hit the winning layup with 32 seconds left to break a tie at 41 for Babylon (2-1) in non-league. MacKenzie Vickers' three-point play with 1:37 left in the game tied the score at 41. MacKenzie Vickers finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

Westhampton 3, Southold 0: Eighth-grader Jordon Laube bowled a 265 in Game 3 of a 677 series to lead Westhampton (2-1) over Southold, 910-742, 982-911, 1,056-796, in League V. Zach Laube bowled a 632 series.

Hewlett 2, Oceanside 1: Chris Loria rolled a 675 series to lead Hewlett (3-0) over Oceanside, 840-725, 818-725, 860-839, in Conference V. Oceanside's Josh Vine bowled a 246 in Game 3.
