Bad news for Ward-Adams
Starting point guard Jonathan Ward-Adams, probably the best player on the Long Island scholastic men’s basketball team, is out of the Empire State Games with a badly sprained ankle suffered in Thursday’s opener.
Ward-Adams was seated at the end of the bench before this afternoon's game against New York City, his ankle heavily wrapped and crutches at his side. He told Newsday, “I’ll probably get an MRI when I get home.”
Ward-Adams, a Newsday All-Long Island second-team selection, has committed to play basketball at Navy, and will attend prep school next year.
