Long Island Player of the Year
Whitman

Singles, Senior
Had an undefeated season going 14-0 in dual meets and 4-0 at counties. Won the Suffolk individual tournament (12-15, 15-9, 15-7). Has been trained and is now coaching badminton at the NYC Badminton Club in Queens.

JESSE DEITRICHSON
Miller Place

Singles, Sophomore
Took first at No. 1 singles (16-17, 15-2, 15-13) at the Suffolk team championship.

DAN SPINELLI
Smithtown East

Doubles, Junior
With Corey Davis, took first at No. 1 doubles at the Suffolk team championship. This is Davis’ third year playing badminton and Spinelli’s second year.

Doubles, Senior
With Greg Mayer, took first place (15-8, 8-15, 15-10) at the Suffolk individual championship. This is Ladeairous’ third year playing badminton and Mayer’s first year.

With Derrick Ladeairous, took first place (15-8, 8-15, 15-10) at the Suffolk individual championship. This is Ladeairous’ third year playing badminton and Mayer’s first year.

DON PRANZO
Coach of the Year
Miller Place

Has been the coach for four years and led the team to three championships. The combined girls and boys team won in 2007, the girls team won in 2009 and the boys team won this season.
