Smithtown West
Doubles, Seniors
Went 4-0 in the Suffolk Individual Tournament, winning by a score of 15-10, 15-7, in the final, marking the duo’s second consecutive doubles title. Ladeairous and Mayer finished the regular season undefeated (11-0) and led Smithtown West to an undefeated (15-0) Suffolk championship season.

Singles, Junior
Finished the season at 13-1 after losing his last match of the year, and went 4-0 at the Suffolk Individual Tournament, winning 15-12, 15-11, in the singles final.

Smithtown West
Singles, Junior
Won at No. 1 singles (14-17, 15-13, 15-10) in the Suffolk Team Tournament after ending the season with a 12-2 record, and finishing third at the Suffolk Individual Tournament.

Doubles, Senior
Finished 11-0 in the regular season and took No. 1 doubles (15-12, 15-13) in the Suffolk Team Tournament.

DERON BROWN
Coach of the Year

Smithtown West
Deron Brown led the Smithtown West boys badminton team to the Suffolk title this season. He has been the coach of both the boys and girls teams for 10 years, where he led the combined boys and girls team to the league title in 2007 and the girls to the league and county title in 2008.

HANNAH FINGER
Player of the Year

Half Hollow Hills
Singles, Junior
Led Half Hollow Hills (15-0) to their second consecutive county title and fourth in program history, winning at No. 1 singles at the Suffolk Team championships. She also went 4-0 at the Suffolk Individual championships, earning the singles title with an 11-8, 6-11, 13-10, victory in the final for her second consecutive title. She finished the season 18-0.

MELANIE PAVELS
Valley Stream South
Singles, Senior
Won at first singles (21-13, 21-17) in the Nassau Individual Championships and finished the regular season 11-1.

GINA CILIBERTI
St. John the Baptist
Singles, Sophomore
Went 6-0 at the CHSAA championships to earn the singles title after going undefeated (12-0) in the regular season. Last year, she went undefeated in doubles and earned the CHSAA doubles title.

Won first doubles (24-22, 19-21, 21-14) in the Nassau Individual Championships after finishing the regular season at 11-1 and leading Jericho to the Conference I title.

GREG MUSCARELLA
Coach of the Year

Calhoun
Gregg Muscarella led the Calhoun girls badminton team to their third consecutive Nassau championship and their seventh title in 10 years. Muscarella has been with the program for 12 years, and over the last decade, has won 151 matches and lost only seven.
