All-Long Island badminton teams
Christina Streznec
Calhoun, Sr.
Took first at No. 1 singles at the Nassau team championship (16-21, 21-17, 21-16). Also won the Nassau singles individual title and is the only player at Calhoun to win four county titles in four years on varsity. She will be attending the College of St. Rose or: Took second at No. 1 singles at the Nassau team championship. Defeated Streznec earlier in the season.
Hannah Finger
Half Hollow Hills, Soph.
Won 11-2, 11-5 at the Suffolk individual tournament, where she only allowed 24 points in eight games. She also won No. 1 singles (11-7, 11-3) at the Suffolk team championship.
Rebecca Moran
St. Anthony's, Sr.
Was undefeated (6-0) at No. 1 singles at the CHSAA championship meet.

Half Hollow Hills, Sr. & Sr.
Had an undefeated season winning 15-2, 15-5 at the Suffolk individual tournament. They also won No. 1 doubles (15-2, 15-8) at the Suffolk team championship. They have played together for the past four years.
Grace Kim and Annie Wu
Great Neck South, Sr. & Sr.
Won 17-21, 21-16, 25-23 at No. 1 doubles at the Nassau championship meet.
Kaitlyn Reid and
Jessica Schmerge
St. John the Baptist, Sr. & Sr.
Were undefeated (6-0) taking first at No. 1 doubles at the CHSAA meet. They began playing together midseason.
Coach Of The Year
Gregg Muscarella, Calhoun
Has been the head coach for 12 years and has lead the team to six county championships in the past nine years.
Matt Simone, Whitman, senior
Had an undefeated season going 14-0 in dual meets and 4-0 at counties. Won the Suffolk individual tournament (12-15, 15-9, 15-7). Has been trained and is now coaching badminton at the NYC Badminton Club in Queens.

Miller Place, sophomore
Took first at No. 1 singles (16-17, 15-2, 15-13) at the Suffolk team championship.
Doubles
Corey Davis and
Dan Spinelli,
Smithtown East, juniors
Took first at No. 1 doubles at the Suffolk team championship. This is Davis' third year playing badminton and Spinelli's second year.
Derrick Ladeairous and
Greg Mayer,
Smithtown West, seniors
Took first place (15-8, 8-15, 15-10) at the Suffolk individual championship. This is Ladeairous' third year playing badminton and Mayer's first year.
Coach of the year
Don Pranzo, Miller Place
Has been the coach for four years and led the team to three championships. The combined girls and boys team won in 2007, the girls team won in 2009 and the boys team won this season.
