Diamond Stars: Top softball, baseball performers on LI this week

A look at the softball and baseball stars who had standout performances on Long Island this week:
SOFTBALL
Andrea Arias, Carey: Arias hit a three-run home run and a grand slam, finishing the day 3-for-3 with eight RBIs in a 12-9 win over Calhoun.
Isabella D’Andrea, Riverhead: D’Andrea went 3-for-3 with two home runs and four RBIs in an 18-1 win over Central Islip.
Bre Dhanraj, Central Islip: Dhanraj went 5-for-5 with two doubles, four RBIs and four runs in a 21-9 win over Floyd.
Karley Handleman, Oceanside: Handleman went 3-for-3 with two home runs and five RBIs in a 9-8 win over Oceanside.
Emily Lopez, Miller Place: Lopez went 2-for-2 with a home run and four RBIs in a 10-5 win over Islip. She went 3-for-3 with a grand slam and seven RBIs in a win over Mt. Sinai.
Madison Nell, Herricks: Nell tossed a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts in a 2-0 win over Island Trees.

Myla Sanchez, Long Beach: Sanchez hit three-run home runs in a 15-2 win over Lynbrook and a 13-4 win over Valley Stream North.
Gabby Shepherd, East Meadow: Shepherd struck out seven and allowed one earned run in a complete game. She also went 3-for-4 with two triples and an RBI in a 4-2 win over Garden City.
Kayla Varga, East Islip: Varga hit two home runs and had four RBIs in an 8-1 win over Bellport. She broke the East Islip hits record of 136, according to coach Jason McGowan.
BASEBALL
C.J. Alfano, St. Anthony’s: He hit two two-run home runs in a 5-0 win over Holy Trinity.
Matt Critchley, West Babylon: He threw a one-hitter, a 2-0 win over Smithtown West.
Trevor Meehan, East Hampton: He struck out 10 and walked two in an 85-pitch no-hitter, a 9-0 win over Comsewogue. It was his second no-no of the season.
Taylor Nitsch, Plainedge: He struck out 11 in a 72-pitch, seven-inning perfect game, an 11-0 win over North Shore.
Casey Quinn, Wheatley: He struck out 12 in a one-hitter and went 3-for-4 with three runs in a 4-0 win over Malverne.
Nick Schwabe, Trevor Smith and DJ Dowling, East Meadow: They combined for a 10-inning no-hitter, a 1-0 win over Glen Cove. Schwabe struck out nine in 6 1/3 innings, Smith struck out two in 2 2/3, and Dowling struck out one in a perfect 10th inning.
Charlie Vasquez, New Hyde Park: He hit a walk-off three-run double with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 5-4 win over Roslyn. He went 3-for-4 and struck out eight in five innings of relief for the win.
Everett Zarzicki, Kings Park: He struck out six in a one-hitter, a 1-0 win over Miller Place.
Zach Wofsy, Half Hollow Hills East: He hit a walk-off two-run double in a 5-4 win over Copiague.
