Newsday's top 10 Long Island high school baseball teams rankings

1. Stony Brook School (1)
Long Island’s top prospect Aiden Ruiz led the Bears (24-2) to the conference championship.
2. Plainedge (2)
This is a juggernaut of a team that can win a state crown. Plainedge (26-0) is pitching rich and hit throughout the lineup.
3. Massapequa (3)
Massapequa (22-3-1) swept Port Washington in the Nassau Class AAA tournament. It meets Connetquot for the third time in the Long Island title game.
4. Connetquot (4)
Rode the big right arm of DJ Filippone to the Suffolk Class AAA crown. Led by Matt Lineman and Andrew McQuade, who each had three hits, the T-birds (21-3) beat Commack, 11-4.
5. Kings Park (7)
Everett Zarzicki pitched all eight innings, striking out 10 in a 4-3 win for Kings Park (21-2) over Sayville to win the Suffolk Class A title.
6. Eastport-South Manor (5)
The Sharks (22-1) have rolled through Suffolk Class AA and into the final against Hauppauge. They need one more win for a county title.
7. Garden City (On the cusp)
The Trojans (23-5) erased a late four-run deficit to come back for a 13-10 win over Bellmore JFK and force a decisive Game 3.
8. Bellmore JFK (6)
Bellmore JFK (20-4) blew a four-run lead late against Garden City and was forced to a decisive Game 3 in the Nassau Class AA tournament.
9. St. Dominic (Unranked)
St. Dominic (20-12) made a spectacular run to win the CHSAA championship. Now it’s on to the state playoffs.
10. Longwood (9)
The Lions (20-3) had a fantastic regular season winning League I with a 19-1 record.
