1. HALF HOLLOW HILLS WEST BOYS BASKETBALL Colts have only one victory, a Suffolk League IV romp over Eastport-South Manor. Tobias Harris & Co. play Copiague and Deer Park this week. It’s very unusual to have three Division I prospects on one team. Tobias Harris, who committed to Tennessee, would love to win a Federation title with Hills West. He won it with L.I. Lutheran last year and Hills West has never been to states in Glens Falls.

2. GLENN WRESTLING The Knights beat Spencerport, the state’s three-time defending dual meet champions, 37-10, over the weekend at the UE duals in Binghamton. The Knights (6-0) won four duals, beating the top competition in the state, including Chenango Forks of Binghamton, 33-13, in the semifinals. They are led by state runnerup Nick Terdick (140).

3. EAST ISLIP GIRLS BOWLING Ninth-grader Lena Sorrentino bowled a 300 in Game 3 of an 801 series, the second 800 series in Suffolk history. The 300 was the first 300 in regular season league play in Suffolk girls history. Tara Ernst and Nikki Wilson round out an impressive lineup that has won 23 of 24 games. 4. HALF HOLLOW HILLS WEST BOYS SWIMMING Hills has been undefeated in dual-meets, league championships and county championships since 2007 and is carrying that three-year trend into the 2010 season. The team has wins over Sayville/Bayport and Connetquot. Matt DeBlasio holds the top 50 yard freestyle time in Suffolk (22.67) and Ryan Savit, as expected, is the county's best diver (high score of 269.7).

5. KELLENBERG GIRLS BASKETBALL The Firebirds (4-1) began the week in the Lady Blazers Holiday Classic and lost 76-38 to St. John’s College High School (D.C.), which has three Division I players. Kellenberg bounced back to hand St. Francis Prep its first loss, 58-44. Emma O’Connor had 25 points and 10 rebounds and Katie Cunningham had 15 points and six assists.

6. GARDEN CITY GIRLS TRACK The Trojans are led by first and second team Newsday standouts Emily Menges and Michelle Rotondo, respectively. The two can dominate races from the 55 hurdles up to the 1500 meters and form a one-two punch. Garden City has won four straight indoor county titles.

7. LONGWOOD BOYS BASKETBALL The Lions (6-0) haven’t lost and sport the highest scoring team in Suffolk. They play a frenetic all-court press and share the ball well. The Lions meet Brentwood in a big-time Suffolk League I game tonight.

8. ST. ANTHONY’S GIRLS BASKETBALL The Friars (8-1) went 3-0 to win the KSA Holiday Tournament in Orlando last week. As usual, it was balanced scoring again as at least eight players scored in each of the three games. The Friars host St. John the Baptist today.

9. LONG ISLAND LUTHERAN BOYS BASKETBALL The Crusaders (8-2) are led by Achraf Yacoubou, who had 28 points in a 74-49 win over St. Anthony’s to rebound from two close back-to-back losses to Stepinac and North Rockland at the Slam Dunk tournament in White Plains.

10. NORTH BABYLON GIRLS BASKETBALL We have to have the high-scoring Bria Hartley, who is Connecticut bound, in our first BIG 10 of the winter. She is absolutely dominant but has her hands full with a young team.
