1. ST. ANTHONY'S FOOTBALL

Neither injuries nor opponents can slow down the Friars, who extended their L.I.-best winning streak to 23 with a 55-29 victory over Stepinac. Quarterback Pete Carew has been a leader for the Friars offense in every way.

2. BRENTOOD BOYS SOCCER

Brentwood extended its winning streak to 19 with a 4-0 win over Floyd as freshman Ever Torres had three goals and one assist. The streak came to an end with a 0-0 tie against Sachem East. The Indians have gone 28 games without a loss, dating to Sept. 20, 2010.

3. SACHEM EAST FIELD HOCKEY

The Flaming Arrows continued to roll, improving to 9-0. They edged rival Northport, 1-0, on Tuesday and Kristen Bagley scored three goals in Thursday's 6-0 win over Newfield.

4. MASSAPEQUA BOYS VOLLEYBALL

In a three-set win over Long Beach, Chris Husmann had 15 kills and the Chiefs maintained their undefeated record. They've won 22 consecutive sets.

5. NORTH SHORE GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

The Vikings continue to roll and are undefeated in league meets. Led by Brianna Nerud and Samantha Nadel, North Shore is poised to repeat as state champions.

6. GARDEN CITY FIELD HOCKEY

An eight-day layoff between games did nothing to slow the Trojans as seven players scored in a dominating performance against Floral Park. Garden City has outscored its opponents 29-2.

7. FREEPORT FOOTBALL

The defending Class I Long Island champs beat Farmingdale, 41-21, to stay perfect. Isaiah Barnes was 16-for-21 for 274 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for 149 yards and a TD. Evan Lapice (109 yards) and Jere Brown (94 yards) each caught a TD.

8. LINDENHURST GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Alyssa Marchino had 28 kills and Emily Clemens totaled 41 assists in the Bulldogs' two wins last week against Northport and Hills East. They've swept the past five matches and remain the top Class AA school on Long Island with an 8-0 record.

9. ST. ANTHONY'S GIRLS SOCCER

Keeper Danielle Maurice and the Friars defense have allowed CHSAA opponents to find the back of the net just once in eight games. A 3-0 week was highlighted by Taylor Salkowsky's tie-breaking goal with 5:00 left in a 2-1 win over Longwood.

10. SAYVILLE FOOTBALL

Another big game for Steven Ferreira, who completed 14 of 19 passes for 258 yards and two scores in a 40-13 win over Harborfields. Ferreira is 241 yards away from the all-time L.I. career record for passing yardage. The Golden Flashes host Bellport on Saturday.
