1. SACHEM EAST FIELD HOCKEY

Katie Trombetta had two goals and an assist in each of the Flaming Arrows' two wins last week, and the defending Class A state champs remain undefeated. Sachem East had a 3-1 win over Smithtown East, the only team to beat them last season. Trombetta (27 points) and Kayla McKeveny (23) are Long Island's leading scorers.

2. LAWRENCE FOOTBALL

Junior Joe Capobianco threw for three touchdowns, including two to Eddie Robinson as Lawrence rolled past Hewlett, 35-7. The top-ranked Golden Tornadoes are 6-0.

3. BRENTWOOD BOYS SOCCER

The Indians continue to pile up the wins with victories over Floyd and Patchogue-Medford. Ever Torres had five goals and three assists in the two games. Brentwood moved to No. 3 in the country in the latest NSCAA boys soccer rankings.

4. SAYVILLE FOOTBALL

Senior halfback John Haggart scored three touchdowns as Sayville beat Miller Place, 35-12, in a game of unbeatens. The Golden Flashes (6-0) have Long Island's longest win streak at 18 games.

5. ST. ANTHONY'S BOYS SOCCER

Brendan Reardon had three goals in a 4-1 win over Kellenberg and Nick Cestaro had two goals in a 7-0 win over Holy Trinity. The Friars played Kellenberg again and won, 1-0.

6. MILLER PLACE GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

Tiana Guevara (18:59.31), Talia Guevara (19:29.45) and Laura Nolan (19:34.37) swept the top three spots in the Varsity B race at the Suffolk Officials Invitational Saturday at Sunken Meadow. The Panthers won the team title with 19 points as all five runners finished in the top 10.

7. SOUTH SIDE GIRLS SOCCER

The defending Class A state champs began the week with arguably their most impressive win of the season in a 3-1 victory over fellow perennial power Massapequa in non-league. Keri Cavallo had two goals and Christina Klaum added another as the Cyclones improved to 9-0-1.

8. CONNETQUOT FOOTBALL

Senior halfback Ryan Harvey had four touchdowns, including an 84-yard kickoff return, as the Thunderbirds improved to 6-0 with a 47-6 win over Sachem East. The T-Bird revival is a complete turnaround from last year's 1-7 finish.

9. JERICHO BADMINTON

They are 8-0 after a 6-1 win over Great Neck North last week. The closest match yet for Jericho has been a 5-2 win over Great Neck South earlier in the season and they make their debut in the BIG 10.

10. GARDEN CITY FIELD HOCKEY

The Trojans rebound from a 1-0 loss to Sachem East with two wins last week, outscoring opponents 13-0, and not allowing a shot on goal. Showing off their depth, 14 players either scored a goal or registered an assist in those two games. Garden City will face Cold Spring Harbor Wednesday in a rematch of last year's Nassau Class B final.
