Long Island's Stick Stars: The top high school boys and girls lacrosse performers this week

BOYS LACROSSE
Michael Albino, Center Moriches
The Red Devils completed their best regular season in program history, according to coach Michael Vitulli, with a 6-5 win over Babylon. Albino starred with 14 saves and surpassed 400 career saves in the process.
Logan Bracco and Jonathan Catanzaro, St. Dominic
Welcome back to the state championship, Bayhawks. No. 1 St. Dominic and its defense shined in its 10-5 win over No. 2 Holy Trinity in the NSCHSAA Class A final as Bracco made 16 saves and Catanzaro caused eight turnovers, scooped 16 ground balls and won 9-of-11 faceoffs.
Malik Grover, Freeport
Grover earned his 500th save in an 8-7 loss to Great Neck North, a game in which he made 14 saves. The senior has been a staple of stability for Freeport through the years as he caps off a 134-save season.
Cameron James, Smithtown East
He scored with 28 seconds left to hand Smithtown East a 14-13 win over Sayville. James dominated with five goals and three assists.
Gavin O’Brien, Northport
The Tigers star had four goals and 10 assists in a potential playoff preview against a 13-win Sachem North team.
Chris Rado, Huntington
The Blue Devils upset Lindenhurst in one of the biggest surprises of the week, a win made possible by Rado’s 19 saves in the 11-7 triumph.
Brian Scheidt, Great Neck North
He made 22 saves, allowing just seven goals, against Freeport.

Nolan Wieczorek, Massapequa
Wieczorek continues a monstrous junior season with four goals and six assists combined against Connecticut’s Darien and Syosset. With 95 points and counting, Wieczorek surpassed Brendan Nichtern’s 2017 record to become the program’s all-time single-season point leader.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Emma Burmeister, Lindenhurst
It was a milestone week for Lindenhurst’s Burmeister, who reached 100 career goals with her four goals and four assists against Brentwood.
Maya Cifarelli, Island Trees
The Bulldogs fell to South Side in the quarterfinal round, but Island Trees made it there off a terrific performance from Cifarelli in the Class C play-in game. She had six goals and three assists in a 14-12 win over Floral Park.
Vienna Guzman, Comsewogue
Guzman’s score — her third of the day — with eight seconds remaining lifted Comsewogue to a 7-6 win over Islip.
Juliet Johnson, Huntington
The Blue Devils completed a 14-2 regular season with a win over another 14-2 side in Ward Melville. Johnson made 10 saves in the 9-3 win.
Marlo Knox, St. Dominic
Knox had three goals, three assists and three draw controls in a tightly contested 9-8 win for the Bayhawks over Kellenberg.
Erin Lily La Rosa, North Shore
The Vikings have at least one more game to play after La Rosa’s three goals, one assist and 15 draw controls to lift fourth-seeded North Shore past No. 5 Seaford in the Nassau Class C quarterfinals.
Jamie Medico, Westhampton
Medico had three goals and two assists against East Islip, but her greatest achievement this week came Tuesday as she netted the overtime winner to beat Smithtown West.
Jordana Wohlleben, Bellmore JFK
With four goals and an assist, Wohlleben led No. 10 Bellmore JFK to a 10-8 win over No. 8 Division in the first round of the Nassau Class B playoffs.
