1. St. Anthony’s
Maryland commits Dylan Harrigan and Daniel Rooney, plus Johns Hopkins commit Jacob Johnston and Virginia commit Ethan Bramoff, all return as seniors. FOGO Robert Johnson (UNC) returns from injury. Charles Cacciabaudo (UNC), Ryan Lasko (Boston) and Brody Richert (Towson) seek a seventh consecutive state title under coach Keith Wieczorek.
2. Chaminade
Few attacking tandems are better than James Gillis (Duke) and John Balsamo (Virginia). Kieran Walsh (Notre Dame) stands between the pipes. George Mavlios (Rutgers) takes over at the faceoff X, long occupied by 2025 graduate Quinn Ball. Look out for Liam Trainor to lead the defense. Coach Greg Kay takes over for Jack Moran’s legendary 45-year run on the sideline.
3. Garden City
Coach Steve Finnell always fields a winner, led by Anthony Asaro (UNC) as one of the top recruits in the 2027 class. Charlie Koester (Lehigh) was instrumental for the reigning state champions. Merit Ruckh (Tampa) and Brayden Robertiello (Penn State) lead the midfield, and Andrew Dengler (Cornell) and Gus Galli (Lehigh) highlight the defense.
4. Massapequa
Massapequa returns 197 points between Tyler Byrnes (UMass), Nolan Wieczorek (Richmond) and Rocco Spallina (Penn). Justin Farrell (Michigan) stars on defense. Coach Kevin Catalano describes midfielder Braden Tucker (Maritime) as “the ultimate glue guy.” Massapequa came 9.7 seconds away from going to overtime in the Long Island final against a Half Hollow Hills team that went undefeated. Expect a motivated group.
5. Northport
Greyson Cabrera (Richmond) will be among Suffolk’s best after a 63-point season. Northport also returns Luke Loiacono (Marist), Shamus Burke (Geneseo) and Jack Trizzino (Holy Cross). Ryder Maag (Bucknell) comes to Northport from Chaminade. Gavin O’Brien (Rutgers), who posted a 76-point season as a sophomore, could be the X-factor for the Tigers.
6. Manhasset
Injuries sidelined Kip Zacharia (Lehigh) for the entire 2025 season, and both Dylan Scheer (Amherst) and Marco Petruccelli (Harvard) missed several games. All are back and ready to go. Conor Sheerin (Hamilton) returns 42 goals. A new staff led by coach Nick Armstrong will look to return Manhasset to the county final.
7. Wantagh
Luke Martini and his 62 goals highlight coach James Polo’s group. A pair of Villanova commits in seniors Devin Paccione and Joe Nicholson combined for 91 goals. Carter Loughman (Albany) is a tough midfielder who was critical in lifting the program’s first Long Island title in 24 years.
8. Port Washington
Port Washington returns one of the best goalies in the country in Max Eynon (Ohio State), as well as standouts in his twin, Harry Eynon, Gavin Neville (UMass) and Jimmy Gannon (Merrimack). A 2025 assistant, Dan Gill enters his first year as head coach. He coached four years at Adelphi and seven years at Massapequa.
9. Syosset
From LIU commits Josh Weisenfeld in goal and FOGO Aiden Cleary to an attack led by Brody Waxer (Michigan) and Gio Accardo (Stevens Tech), there’s plenty for coach John Calabria to work with. The defense also returns Jeremy Mallen (Stony Brook).
10. Farmingdale
The Dalers return 16 seniors to a team that reached the Class A semifinal round under coach Eric Dunne. Michael Galgano (UMass) caused 73 turnovers, and JJ Damo (LIU) should be a plus at the faceoff X.
5 teams on the cusp: Sachem North, Cold Spring Harbor, South Side, West Islip, Smithtown East
