Jake Silverman, who made three saves, had a key stop with 90 seconds left to seal it. Bellmore JFK (8-4-3) will play South Side in a semifinal Friday at 6 p.m. at Hofstra.

Chaminade 2, St. John the Baptist 1: James Walsh scored the winner in overtime on a kick from 25 yards that went over the goalie's head as No. 3 Chaminade (11-4-4) beat No. 2 St. John the Baptist in a CHSAA semifinal. Chris Abruzzo had given the Cougars a 1-0 lead, but Brian Cruz's goal from 25 yards tied it at 1 in the 43rd minute. The Flyers will face St. Anthony's at 6 p.m. Saturday at Adelphi.

Jericho 3, Lawrence 1:David Greenbaum scored two goals and had one assist to lift No. 7 Jericho over No. 2 Lawrence in a Nassau Class A quarterfinal. Jericho (10-4-3) will play Roslyn in a semifinal at 8 p.m. Friday at Hofstra.

Roslyn 1, Garden City 0: Ethen Rousso scored a goal and made three stops at goalkeeper during a shootout after the teams were scoreless after regulation and two overtime periods as No. 11 Roslyn (9-4-2) edged No. 3 Garden City in a Nassau Class A quarterfinal.

South Side 3, Bethpage 1: Alessandro Pugliese had a goal and two assists and Chuck Leone had a goal and an assist to lead No. 4 South Side over No. 5 Bethpage in a Nassau Class A quarterfinal. Thomas Germano had seven saves for South Side (10-3-3).

Huntington 1, Half Hollow Hills West 0: Ricky Velasquez scored with 15 minutes left and Lee Reiver had 11 saves as No. 15 Huntington defeated No. 2 Hills West. Huntington (9-4-5) will visit Hauppauge in a semifinal Friday.

Whitman 1, Deer Park 0: Witman Hernandez scored the winner with 2:53 left to lead No. 8 Whitman over No. 9 Deer Park in the first round of the Suffolk Class AA playoffs. Whitman (13-4) will play host No. 1 Smithtown West on Friday at 2 p.m. It was Whitman's first playoff win since 1996, coach John DiGiacomo said.

Hauppauge 1, Ward Melville 0: Nick Roros scored the winning goal in the second overtime period off an assist from Cory Remondino with 3:30 left to propel No. 10 Hauppauge over No. 7 Ward Melville in the first round of the Suffolk Class AA playoffs. Joe Scudero recorded seven saves in the shutout.

Smithtown West 2, East Islip 1: Zach Thiele scored the winner off an assist from Chris Hettler with 25 minutes left to lead No. 1 Smithtown West over No. 16 East Islip in a Suffolk Class AA first-round game. Matt Aprile tied the score for Smithtown West (16-0-1) in the first half, also on an assist from Hettler.

Brentwood 3, Half Hollow Hills East 2: Richard Amaya scored the winner off an assist from Ever Torres with two minutes left to lead No. 4 Brentwood over No. 13 Half Hollow Hills East in the first round of the Class AA Suffolk playoffs. Brentwood (14-3) will host No. 5 Commack Friday at 2 p.m.

Central Islip 4, Newfield 0: Christian Villalta scored two goals to guide No. 3 Central Islip over No. 14 Newfield in a Suffolk Class AA first-round playoff match. Central Islip (13-2) will host Sachem North on Friday at 2 p.m.

Commack 3, Copiague 0: Connor Gill scored two goals as No. 5 Commack defeated No. 12 Copiague in a Suffolk Class AA first-round game. Edgar Martinez scored the first goal of the game nine minutes into the second half for Commack (13-2-2).

Sachem North 2, North Babylon 0: Brandon Arango scored two goals and Harrison Weilbacher had two assists to lead No. 6 Sachem North (13-3-1) over No. 11 North Babylon in the first round of the Suffolk Class AA playoffs. Vincent Formato recorded five saves in the shutout for Sachem North (13-3-1).
