Sophomore Emig Goouse scored his first varsity goal off a through ball from Nicholas Reyes with 15:29 left, sending Copiague to a 1-0 non-league win over Central Islip in boys soccer Tuesday.

Alexis Batres-Molina (eight) and Steven Seales totaled nine saves for the shutout. Batres-Molina made two key saves late in the game to preserve the win for Copiague. Eastport- South Manor 2, Sachem North 0: Dallas Hayes scored with 4:10 left in the game to give Eastport-South Manor a 2-0 lead. Ryan Flaherty had eight saves for Eastport-South Manor.

Glen Cove 3, Division 1: Sal Tornicchio scored on a rebound off a shot by Junior Cantarero in the 68th minute to give Glen Cove a 2-1 lead in its Nassau Conference A-V opener. Angad Sodhi made three saves for Glen Cove.

Hewlett 1, Plainedge 0: Myles Ofri scored off a pass from Spencer Feuer in the 12th minute for Hewlett. Ronie Morales had seven saves in the shutout.GIRLS SOCCER

Garden City 1, Plainedge 0: Haley O'Hanlon scored an unassisted goal in the 10th minute to lead Garden City in Nassau Conference A-I. Kelsey Tierney made four saves for Garden City.

Valley Stream North 2, Jericho 1: Alanna McDougall scored on a free kick with 2:36 left to play to win it for Valley Stream North in Conference A-II. McDougall added an assist on a goal by Alexis Contreras.Hewlett 3, Floral Park 1: Eighth-grader Katherine Sossan scored her first varsity goal off a throw-in from Gabby Schwartz 13 minutes into the second half to give Hewlett a 2-1 lead in Conference A-III.Eastport-South Manor 4, Floyd 2: Emily Gleason scored with 17:28 left in the game to give Eastport-South Manor a 3-2 lead in non-league. Jordan Steinroder, who assisted on Gleason's go-ahead goal, tied the score at 2 10 minutes into the second half. Rebecca Tooker scored twice for Eastport-South Manor. Hauppauge 1, Smithtown West 0: Keri McCarthy scored the winner with 10 minutes remaining for Hauppauge.
