Olaya's OT goal a winner for unbeaten East Hampton
Mario Olaya scored off a feed from Caesar Correa with 4:59 left in overtime as East Hampton remained undefeated in Suffolk League VI with a 1-0 win over Shoreham-Wading River Monday in boys soccer.
Brandon West made eight saves in his seventh shutout of the season for the Bonackers (5-0). Gerald Logan had seven stops for Shoreham-Wading River (3-2). Miller Place 5, Harborfields 0: Senior Jake Scavetta had a career-high five points (3 goals, 2 assists) for Miller Place (5-1) in League V. Steven Jackolski added three assists and Kevin Labarbera made three saves in the shutout. Harborfields is 1-5.
Smithtown Christian 1, Southold/Greenport/Shelter Island 0: Joe Walsh's header off a corner from Ken Voisich in the 67th minute was all Smithtown Christian (2-3) needed in League VIII. Frank Noviello had five saves in his first shutout of the season. Southold drops to 0-5. NASSAU
Sewanhaka 4, Malverne/East Rockaway 3: Jerry Merville scored a goal and added an assist to lead Sewanhaka (1-3-1) past Malverne/East Rockaway (1-4) in Conference V. Dominic Roberge, Islan Yousef and Jonathan Corado also scored for Sewanhaka. Jesse Gillespie scored two goals for Malverne/East Rockaway, which trailed 4-0.
Wantagh 1, Garden City 1: James Graham fed Michael Rumel for a goal in the 69th minute to tie the score at 1 for Wantagh (2-1-2) in Conference VI. Garden City (3-1-1) took a 1-0 lead on an unassisted goal by John Tarzian a minute earlier. football
Deer Park 28, East Hampton 21: Austin Sweeting rushed 13 times for 57 yards and two touchdowns, and junior fullback Vincent Vitale rushed 16 times for 80 yards and one touchdown to lead Deer Park (3-1) in Division III on Saturday night. Damien Lugo rushed eight times for 93 yards in the win. Dimitry Russ had six tackles, three for a loss, and Richie Lugo also recorded six tackles, two for a loss. East Hampton drops is 2-2.
