Branco, McPherson lead North Babylon

Fola Branco had 23 points and Melshawn McPherson added 20 points and 12 rebounds for North Babylon in a 78-74 overtime win yesterday over Smithtown West in a Suffolk League III boys basketball game.

North Babylon (4-1) outscored Smithtown West 15-11 in the extra session. Ryan Hickey had 38 points for Smithtown West.Central Islip 60, Half Hollow Hills East 55: Dashawn Samuels scored five points off the bench in the second quarter to help Central Islip (5-0) open up a 31-16 halftime lead in League II.
