Bridget Canavan's late three wins it for Pierson / Bridgehampton girls basketball team

Bridget Canavan hit a three-pointer from the top of the key with 12 seconds left to give the Pierson / Bridgehampton girls basketball team a 53-51 win over Port Jefferson in a Suffolk League VIII game. Canavan had nine rebounds and she and Kasey Gilbride scored 16 points each. Port Jefferson's Courtney Lewis scored a game-high 30 points. Bellmore JFK 37, Hempstead 34: Jenna Delgado scored all four of her points in the final minute, including a bank shot from 16 feet to give Bellmore JFK a one-point lead and a 17-footer with 22 seconds left to provide the final margin.

Upper Room 76, Portledge 34: Meg Oberg scored 32 points and had 16 rebounds for Upper Room in a IPPSAL game. Teammate Itee Brown-Smikle had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Wyandanch 61, Ross 41: Briana Perez scored 18 points for Wyandanch, which overcame a 10-2 deficit with 12 straight points. The Warriors outscored Ross 22-5 in the second quarter.

Bellport 43, Floyd 34: Tamaya Wilkens (14 points) had four three-pointers for Bellport and Arella Guirantes had 13 points and 14 rebounds.Southampton 42, Stony Brook 12: Noele Hodges had 24 points, six steals, five assists and four rebounds for Southampton.
