Caputo's goal the winner for Glenn

Timmy Caputo scored with 2:40 left in the second overtime from 18 yards out as Glenn edged Shoreham-Wading River, 1-0, in a League VI boys soccer match Wednesday.

Goalkeeper Kevin Flores had three saves for Glenn, which has given up just two goals and has four shutouts this season

Eastport-South Manor 1, Harborfields 0: Armando Fuentes scored off a corner kick by Tom Kenneally 20 minutes into the first half to lift Eastport/South Manor in League V. Jason Orban had six saves in the shutout.Mepham 1, Bellmore JFK 0: Junior Robert Lagomarsini scored on an assist from Dante Ippolito three and a half minutes into the second half to lead Mepham (1-1) in Conference III. Junior goalkeeper Steve Fotinos had 12 saves in Mepham's first shutout of the season. Locust Valley 1, Cold Spring Harbor 0: Junior John Nickas scored an unassisted goal eight minutes into the first half for Locust Valley in Conference VIII. Mike Lejuez recorded eight saves for his second shutout of the year.

East Meadow 9, Mineola 0:Tim Kearon shot 2-under 34 on the front nine at Eisenhower Blue to lead East Meadow in Conference VI.

Commack 6.5, Smithtown West 2.5:John Smagala shot 1-over 37 on the front nine at Smithtown Landing for Commack in League III.

Bayport-Blue Point 8.5, Bellport .5: Mike Ginnico shot a par 36 on the front nine at West Sayville for Bayport-Blue Point in League V.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Bellmore JFK 3, Calhoun 0: Ben Hirschler had 14 kills and eight digs, Jake Sherman added 18 assists and Brian O'Gorman finished with 10 kills and five blocks to lead Bellmore JFK to a 25-16, 25-18, 25-16 win in Conference II.

Carey 3, Valley Stream Central 0: Robin Sunny had three aces and nine kills and John Thomas added 10 assists and four aces to lead Carey in a 25-19, 25-15, 26-24 Conference III win. Justin Poserio had five digs and seven assists in the winning effort.East Hampton 3, Huntington 0: Thomas King had 11 kills, Brian Seekamp added three kills and four blocks and A.J. Bennett totaled 16 assists to lead East Hampton to a 25-14, 25-16, 25-16 victory in League III.Eastport-South Manor 3, Hauppauge 0: Ryan Brisson had 13 assists and Brendan Tutino added three blocks and 10 kills for ESM in a 25-13, 25-19, 25-13 League III win. Ryan Brandow chipped in six kills for the winners.
