CHSFL roundup: St. Anthony's, Chaminade football teams fall in season openers
Xavier Bala rushed for 166 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries as St. Anthony’s lost its non-league opener, 38-21, to host McDonogh (Owings Mills, MD.) on Friday. Bala had two catches for 34 yards and totaled 200 yards of offense.
La Salle Academy (Providence, R.I.) 28, Chaminade 27: Anthony Trapani ran for two touchdowns in a non-league opener on Saturday, including one to cut Chaminade’s deficit to 28-27 with 2:43 remaining. But the extra-point attempt was unsuccessful. Sean Carnevale ran for a score and threw a 59-yard TD pass to Sean Powers.
