BRIGID BRENNAN
Northport, Junior
Brennan won the 5000 Meter race at the Suffolk Division Championships, clocking in at 19:28.40. Her combined score at divisions placed her in the top five. The junior's 55th place finish in the Class A state race helped her team place sixth.

CAROLINE BROWN
Holy Trinity, Senior
Brown placed first in the 2.5 mile run at the CHSAA Intersectional Championships, finishing in 15:06. She finished fourth at the NSCHSAA championships, completing the 5K course in 19:39.52. Brown also was second at the Section I coaches meet at Bowdoin Park.

ELIZABETH CALDWELL
North Shore, Senior
Caldwell finished first in her 5K race at the Nassau Conference Championships, winning in 18:52.4. Her 19th place mark at the state federation meet helped her team place fourth, the best finish for any LI team. She also finished 35th at the Nike Regional Championships.

STEPHANIE GERLAND, Garden City, Freshman
Gerland burst onto the scene as a freshman. She won her race at the Nassau Conference Championships with a time of 18:41.5 and placed eighth in the Class B state race. Her state performance was a major factor in Garden City's fourth place finish in Class B. Gerland finished 33rd at the Nike Regional Championships, crossing the finish line in 19:21. Her sister, Jennifer, made Newsday's All-LI second team.

LAUREN GRUBER
Syosset, Freshman
Gruber finished first at the Nassau Conference Championships, winning her 5K race in 19.01.9. The freshman finished 27th in the Class A race at the state meet. Her 55th place finish at the Nike Regional Championships helped Syosset finish tenth in team scoring.

TALIA GUEVARA
Miller Place, Junior
Just like her twin sister Tiana, Talia is setting a new standard at Miller Place. She had the second highest combined score at the Suffolk Division Championships, finishing behind - guess who? - her sister. Talia finished 14th in the Class B individual race at the state championships.

RUNNER OF THE YEAR: TIANA GUEVARA
Miller Place, Junior
She had the highest finish among any LI runner, boy or girl, at November's state meet. Guevara finished second in the 5K Class B race, posting a time of 18:28.8. She was also the top LI finisher in the Class B state federation meet, finishing in 18:48 - tied for seventh overall.

DELANEY WORTH
St. Anthony's, Junior
The junior finished second at the NSCHSAA League Championships, finishing the 5K run in 19:32.65. Her finish helped St. Anthony's place first at the league championships. Worth finished fourth at the CHSAA Intersectional Championships, once again helping her school win the team portion of the event.
