Thomas Diliberto took second in 12:54.8 as St. Anthony's edged Chaminade, 59-61, to win the CHSAA Intersectional boys cross country title for the second straight year at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.

Thomas Flynn (13:24.76) was 10th, Brian Smith (13:30.93) took 13th, Kevin Kreider (13:38.88) finished 15th and Frank Segreto (13:42.69) took 19th to round out the top five for the Friars.

"Our kids finished 18 seconds apart," St. Anthony's coach Tim Dearie said of his second- through fifth-place finishers. "Not running as a group has been an issue this year."

Chaminade's Will Slattery was the individual champion, taking first in 12:53.88.

St. John the Baptist, led by Brandon Camenzuli (13:12.42) with a fifth-place finish, took third overall. It was the highest finish for the Cougars since they took third in 1980.

Kellenberg girls win. Kellenberg placed three runners in the top nine and won its first CHSAA Intersectional cross country title. Kim Mackay took fourth in 15:47.65 and Kylie Pearse was fifth in 15:57.74.

Ashlin Conroy took ninth (16:23.87), Mary Hutchinson was 13th in 16:40.54, and Mia Imbesi took 20th for the Firebirds.

Holy Trinity's Colleen Schmidt took first place in 14:43.7, followed by St. John the Baptist's Anne Carey (14:52.32) and Sacred Heart's Ashley Murphy (15:12.33). St. Anthony's was second with 56 points.
