North Shore quartet, East's Paul impress

Long Island was well represented on the national stage in cross country Saturday as several runners finished among the top 100 at the Nike Cross Nationals in Portland, Ore.

In addition to North Shore's quartet of Samantha Nadel, Brianna Nerud, Jessica Donohue and Elizabeth Caldwell, who finished in the top 100, Sachem East's Rachel Paul took 26th in 18:30.58.

In the boys race, Chaminade's Thomas Awad finished 54th out of 199 runners.

Friars take fourth. Led by Thomas Diliberto and Patrick Ginty, who finished 17th and 25th out of 159 runners, the St. Anthony's boys had a strong showing with a fourth-place finish in the Nike Cross Regional Championship race in Wappingers Falls on Nov. 26.
