Northport's Brannigan 7th at state cross country meet

Northport's Michael Brannigan, the reigning Suffolk Class A champion, led the way for Long Island in the state public schools boys cross country championships Saturday in Canton. Brannigan was seventh (15:54). Sachem North finished fourth in Class A.
In Class B, Garden City's Tim Josephs placed eighth (16:21.8) and Bayport-Blue Point was second in the class. Port Jefferson's James Burke was sixth (16:28.4) and Oyster Bay was seventh in Class C.
