Ezra Turpin, Griffin McGrath pick it up for Mount Sinai
Ezra Turpin returned an interception 50 yards with four minutes left in the third quarter to give Mount Sinai (1-4) a five-point lead in the Mustangs' 27-7 win over Hauppauge Monday in Suffolk III football. Griffin McGrath returned a one-handed interception 40 yards with 40 seconds left in the game.
McGrath also returned an interception 30 yards to the 5-yard line at the end of the third quarter, setting up Michael Carniero's 2-yard, fourth-quarter touchdown run. Carniero rushed for 172 yards on 14 carries. Tyler Burden picked off a pass, Tom O'Brien made seven tackles and Jeremiah Turpin had six tackles, including a sack.

Sachem North 3, Centereach 2: Gabriella Lorenzo scored the second of her three goals to tie it at 2 with 9:26 left and scored the winner with 3:42 left for Sachem North (8-2) in non-league.
Greenport-Southold 2, Hampton Bays 1: Madison Hilton scored the go-ahead goal, her second, off an assist from Madison Tabor with seven minutes left for Greenport-Southold in Division III. Tabor also assisted on Hilton's first goal.GYMNASTICS
Ward Melville 172.8, Patchogue-Medford 166.475: Cydney Crasa earned a 9.9 on the vault to lead Ward Melville (5-0) in League I. She also earned 9.5 on the floor, 8.95 on the beam and 8.8 on bars.

Garden City 7, Sewanhaka 2: Jonathan Granville shot 2-under-par 34 on the back nine at Eisenhower Blue for Garden City (9-0) in Conference III.

Paige Kaplan won the 200 individual medley in a state-qualifying time of 2:10.26 and also won the 100 butterfly (58.18).
