Garden City's Mahon, Bruno score in shutout
Tara Mahon scored off an assist by Alex Bruno in the first half and added an assist for Garden City in a 5-0 win over John Jay Cross River in non-league field hockey Sunday.
Bruno had a goal and an assist, and Laura Fanning had a save as Garden City (11-0-1) posted its 10th shutout of the season. John Jay Cross River goalkeeper Dayna Mercer had 13 saves in the loss.Patchogue-Medford 3, North Babylon 0: Emily Rohme scored off an assist from Julie Heaton 16 minutes into the game to lead Patchogue-Medford (4-7) in Division II.
