Some of the things said following Friends Academy's 6-0 win over Great Neck South on Tuesday. 
 Quakers defender Jalisa Clark Shutout: “It felt really good to have solid defense. Between Steph, Katie and myself, it worked out well. Finally getting a win: “It feels good, but we still need to remember that there are other good teams out there and we have to play hard.” &nbsp; 
 Chloe Friedman scored three girls for her first career hat trick. Dominant performance: “We played well, and we did it as a team, so it was really exciting.” Rebounding from the 0-5 start: “We’re playing a lot better now. We communicated better and [we were] running a lot more, getting to the ball. Just knowing where everyone else is on the field.” First hat trick: “I’m really happy. In the beginning of the season I couldn’t get my goals in, but we worked hard and today I came through. I’m excited.” &nbsp; 
 Erica Sklar had three goals and an assist to lead the Quakers Three-goal game: “I missed a few in the beginning and I was getting frustrated, but I kept my head in the game and kept going.” Scoring outburst: “It’s good, but it’s not all me. My team did a great job behind me. They brought the ball up fast and they were setting me up… I had two 1-v-1s. There was one with me and the goalie, and I deflected it because it was going right to her. And the other one, I dodged the goalie and put it in.” &nbsp; 
 Savannah Febesh had two assists. Assessment of the team’s performance: “It was frustrating early on; I think we were a little frazzled. But we pulled it together, and in the second half we came out really strong.” Febesh showcased a couple slick shots in the game, including a reverse chip and reverse sweep: “I’ve used it more this year just because I’ve been training a lot. I’m gonna play in college next year so I’ve been working more on different skills to make sure I’m ready.” The absence of junior forward&nbsp;Bride Gahan: “It’s tough. She was a big help to the team; she’s got a knack for the goal. We miss her a lot… She just came out of surgery and we’re hoping she makes a speedy recovery. Last year during lacrosse season she didn’t play – and she’s an amazing lacrosse player as well. It just hurt her to walk, so she couldn’t make it out this season.” Starting 0-5 after going 13-3-1 last year: “Last year we’d only lost three [seniors] so it was easier to transition. This year, it’s working with more new people and making sure everyone’s skills work together.” 
 Friends Academy coach Christine Botti Sklar and Friedman’s big games: “It’s good, and that’s what we want from them. That’s why they’re on the forward line.” The victory: “It’s been a while since we had a game (Friends’ previous game was Sept. 26), and we got off to a slow start, but we picked it up... Getting a win feels good. We wanted to play at our speed and our tempo. That was a measure we were looking for today, to see if we could play our game and do the things we needed to do.” Rebounding from the slow start: “We didn’t win the games, but we played with them. And when you’re playing against the best teams in the county, to be within a goal is an accomplishment. Is it nice to get a win on the board? Yes. But we know what we’re capable of. We have a lot of young girls on the team. We have a mix of new and veteran players. The seniors are taking the lead and the new girls are easing into their positions and blending in.”
