Newsday's top 50 Long Island high school field hockey players for 2026

Newsday’s annual list of the top 50 Long Island high school field hockey players to start the 2026 season, listed in alphabetical order. All stats listed are from last season, unless otherwise noted.

Evelyn Bavaro, Harborfields, M, Jr.

Her ability to step to the ball, intercept passes and skillfully dribble through opposing defenses creates countless opportunities. Bavaro makes a difference on both ends of the field — anchoring defensive corners while also serving as a playmaker on offense. She had eight goals and six assists.

Kacey Berger, Sachem East, F, Sr.

She led Sachem East in points (12 goals, 14 assists), displaying her ability to create scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates. Berger is a multisport standout (cheer, flag football) who played a massive role in bringing Sachem East to the state field hockey semifinals.

Grace Brantuk, Garden City, M, Sr.

She has a major impact with her power, athleticism and leadership. Brantuk led Garden City in assists with 10 and added four goals. She's a facilitator on offense and a strong matchup on defense.

Camryn Bruckner, Bayport-Blue Point, F/M, Jr.

. Bruckner has strong stick skills, great field awareness and is always in the right spot to control the field. She had 11 goals and four assists.

Madison Campo, Sachem East, M, Sr.

In her first year as a starter, she grew into a leadership role. With a year of experience, Campo will be an offensive threat and help lead the midfield unit of one of the best teams on Long Island. She had 13 goals and six assists.

Madeline Clark, Bayport-Blue Point, D/M, Sr.

She's primarily a defensive player, but bolsters the offense as a midfielder when needed. Her leadership and skill in transition makes her dangerous.  She had a goal and three assists.

Riley Connelly, Smithtown East, GK, Jr.

A three-year starter, she recorded 25 saves and six shutouts. Her athleticism, quick reflexes and poised play under pressure set her apart.

Emi Coronel, Carle Place, M, Sr.

She is an elite midfielder who impacts every aspect of the game. Coronel is the player Carle Place relies on to control the pace and create opportunities. The Lehigh commit has great vision and an ability to stay composed under pressure. 

Ava Cruz, Locust Valley, M, Sr.

Known for her impressive stickwork and sharp field vision, she excels at orchestrating the offense and creating opportunities. The four-year starter had four goals and six assists.

Paige D’Anna, Friends Academy, M, Sr.

She is a dominant player who controls the Quakers’ midfield. D’Anna’s abilities on both sides of the field allow her to transition from defense into an attacking position. She had nine goals and five assists.

Josie Dee, Sachem East, M, Sr.

She had a breakout year, recording six goals and five assists on Sachem East’s road to the state tournament. Dee is strong, fast and athletic, and will step into a larger leadership role as a senior.

Delaney Diesso, Massapequa, F, Jr.

She has exceptional stick skills, scoring ability and poise.  She had six goals and three assists and will be a top scorer for Massapequa this season.

Brooke Donnellan, Massapequa, D, Sr.

She has been a standout defender for three seasons and is expected to be an unbeatable player in the backfield once again. Donnellan, who also plays well on the offensive end,  helped lead Massapequa to multiple shutouts.

Alexi Dutka, Sachem North, GK, Jr.

She is a dominant, fearless and athletic presence. Dutka has great communication skills and the ability to make game-changing stops. She finished with 99 saves.

Emma Glick, Harborfields, F, Soph.

She made an immediate impact in her first season as the only freshman on varsity. Glick’s speed, tenacious stick work and desire to win will continue to play a major role in Harborfields’ success. She led her team with 10 goals and eight assists.

Ava Gomes, Carle Place, D, Sr.

She is a hard-working and dependable defensive midfielder who consistently does the little things that make a major difference. Gomes’ work ethic, field awareness and ability to contribute in both defensive and transition play make her a standout.

Lyla Grosso, Port Washington, M, Sr.

She is a well-rounded player who can thrive anywhere on the field. Grosso is always looking to improve and bring new skills and drills to her team. She is like a coach on the field and had a goal and two assists.

Kelsey Hoffmann, Miller Place, F, Jr.

As a sophomore, she made a big impact on a team with 15 seniors. The SUNY Cortland commit is a standout midfielder with great stick skills, high field hockey IQ and an ability to see the whole field. A five-year varsity player, Hoffman is highly respected by opposing coaches.

Brianna Kashimer, Garden City, M, Sr.

Her stick skills and work ethic make Kashimer difficult to defend. The Messiah University commit had five goals and two assists and will continue to be a strong presence in the Trojans’ offense.

Skye Korten, South Side, F, Sr.

She led the Cyclones with 12 goals. Korten has impressive stick skills and knows how to put herself in scoring position. Her field sense lifts the entire offense.

Dylan Lambert, Manhasset, F, Jr.

She is dangerous in the circle and a natural finisher. Lambert can draw fouls and create  scoring opportunities. She led the team in goals with 13 and will step into a larger role as an upperclassman.

Sarah Langdon, Eastport-South Manor, D, Sr.

Formerly a varsity soccer player, she picked up field hockey as a junior and immediately took to the sport. Langdon is a tremendous athlete with great field vision and stick skills.

Lily LiPuma, Bayport-Blue Point, F, Sr.

She is an explosive forward who has led the Phantoms in goals and assists for the past two years. . She had 13 goals and 12 assists.

Keira Lombardo, Sayville, F, Sr.

She is dangerous in the circle, always finding a way to score or draw a foul and give Sayville a scoring opportunity. Lombardo is a leader with outstanding stick skills and speed. She had seven goals and five assists.

Reese Long, South Side, M, Sr.

She controls the center of the field and is someone the Cyclones can rely on to set the tone. . Long’s impact goes beyond the stat line, as her confidence, field awareness and leadership make her extremely valuable.

Lily Longaro, Port Washington, M, Sr.

She is a selfless player who controls the midfield and is always looking to set up her teammates. She works hard on both sides of the ball and had a goal and four assists.

Tessa Matozzo, Locust Valley, M, Sr.

A dynamic playmaker who impacts the game with elite athleticism and field awareness. Matozzo is a dedicated four-year starter and standout multisport athlete (also plays lacrosse). She had three goals and four assists.

Lilly Mendler, Northport, M, Sr.

She controls the middle and works hard to out-hustle opponents on both ends of the field. . Her impact goes beyond the statistics, as many of the Tigers' scoring plays begin with her.

Caroline Mitek, Huntington, F, Sr.

She has superb stick skills, dodges, pulls and has excellent technique in transition. The Scranton commit can see the field, control the ball and plays a direct role in many of Huntington’s scoring opportunities. Mitek led her team with 21 goals and six assists.

Emily Mooney, East Islip, F, Sr.

She has been East Islip’s leading scorer since her sophomore year, notching 13 goals and five assists last year. Mooney is a multisport standout (track, flag football) and has a huge impact on her team’s success. She is committed to Dominican University.

Erin Morgan, Carle Place, M, Sr.

She is an aggressive, physical and relentless midfielder who plays with intensity. Morgan creates opportunities with pressure, speed and determination. She is a difficult matchup who had nine goals and three assists.

Katelynn Murtha, Eastport-South Manor, M, Sr.

A five-year varsity starter and relentless athlete who scored the game-winning goal in the county championship. Murtha had 17 goals and 11 assists and thrives in high-pressure environments.

Madison O’Hagan, Seaford, M, Sr.

She is a true leader and dominates the center of the field. O’Hagan is fast, intelligent and has a powerful drive. She knows where to position herself and how to place the ball for her teammates. She had five goals and five assists.

Emma Onorato, New Hyde Park, M, Sr.

She is a physically strong player who not only creates scoring opportunities for teammates, but has the vision to score and finish in the circle. She had seven goals and 11 assists.

Ella Prado, Ward Melville, M, Sr.

Her maturity, composure and skill make an impact all over the field. The Patriots will look to Prado to guide the team back to another postseason. The Endicott College commit had two goals and four assists.

Meghan Prevet, Smithtown East, M, Sr.

Her strengths are power, speed and dynamic stick work. Prevet quarterbacks the team in the defensive midfield with talent and commitment. The Meredith College commit had four goals and two assists.

Casey Psaki, Garden City, F, Sr.

Psaki was Garden City’s leading scorer with 12 goals, including the game-winner in the county championship. She also added four assists.

Lexi Quiery, Eastport-South Manor, M, Jr.

A starter since 8th grade, she is smart with the ball and a skilled passer. Quiery had eight goals and four assists and will take on increased responsibility as an upperclassman.

Emily Racich, Garden City, M, Sr.

Her high field hockey IQ and strong stickwork help her control the midfield. Racich anchored the Trojans’ defense and recorded a goal and four assists. She will continue her field hockey career at William & Mary next year.

Eden Randall, Manhasset, M, Sr.

She led Long Island in assists with 19 and added seven goals to lead her team in points. The Bowdoin commit is Manhasset’s quarterback and will continue to play a facilitating role. She is a versatile midfielder who can make things happen on both sides of the ball.

Katerina Rivera, Clarke, D, Sr.

She is a steady presence in Clarke’s backfield and will continue to anchor the team’s defense. Rivera has been an impact player since her freshman year. She is a tenacious athlete and a tough matchup who will not give up on the ball.

Abigail Roslund, Northport, M, Sr.

Her ability to see the play makes her an impact player on Northport’s offensive end. Roslund’s speed sets her apart — she can fly past almost anyone in her way and get the ball into the offensive circle. The Wingate commit had a goal and an assist.

Annie Spina, Manhasset, GK, Jr.

Spina, who has started since her freshman year, is athletic and an excellent communicator who commands her defense. She made 60 saves.  

Juliet Stebner, Seaford, F, Sr.

In the past two seasons, she has been directly involved in 21 goals. Stebner knows how to get herself, and teammates, into scoring position. She is a strong distributor who had three goals and five assists.

Carly Sullivan, Harborfields, M, Jr.

She has a strong field presence, great stick work and an ability to read a play quickly. Sullivan played an important role as a midfielder, scored four goals and had five assists.

Lily Tamburo, Ward Melville, F, Jr.

She is a fast forward who is strong in the circle. Tamburo facilitates penalty corner and shooting opportunities and is a threat on the attacking end. She recorded nine goals and four assists.

Julianna Tietjen, Northport, F, Sr.

The Hofstra commit has quick stick handling skills and a drive to out-hustle opponents. Tietjen led Long Island in points with 26 goals and 11 assists.

Kaitlyn Toth, Ward Melville, F, Sr.

Her speed, strong stick work and tenacity puts pressure on the opposition. The New Paltz commit had two goals and two assists.

Camryn Woodworth, Cold Spring Harbor, M, Sr.

The Seahawks will rely on her to forge a path through a difficult Conference 1 schedule. Woodworth is a competitive midfielder who displays strong leadership. She tallied three assists.

Frankie Zins, Smithtown West, M, Jr.

She is the backbone of Smithtown West. Zins is aggressive and has outstanding vision. The junior is a effective feeder and ranked second on Long Island in assists with 18.
