Shoreham-Wading River’s 25-game winning streak, the longest on Long Island, is over.

Scott Sasso hit Kenny Rohl for a 9-yard touchdown pass in overtime to give Babylon a 27-21 comeback win over the Wildcats in Suffolk IV Friday night.

SWR got the ball first in overtime but failed to score.

Babylon (2-0) trailed 21-7 at halftime, but Jason Carlock caught a 30-yard touchdown pass over the middle from Sasso, cutting the deficit to 21-14 in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Charlie DiPalma had a sack on second down, slowing Shoreham’s momentum and leading to two incomplete passes. Babylon tied it at 21 when Sasso passed 10 yards to Shaun Kaminsky in the corner of the end zone.

“In my 28 years as Babylon coach, this was one of the bigger regular season games,” said Rick Punzone. “To beat Shoreham with three sophomores on the line, it shows a lot of character on our part.”
