D-II: Pannell's 4 TDs give Smithtown West win
James Pannell rushed for 120 yards on 14 carries and scored four touchdowns to lead Smithtown West to a 33-0 win over Smithtown East yesterday in Suffolk II football.
Logan Greco added 72 yards on seven carries and a touchdown for Smithtown West (3-5). Matt Morganelli led with six tackles and three sacks. Smithtown East is 2-6.
East Islip 21, Deer Park 0:Tyler Rigo had 31 carries for 194 yards and two touchdowns to lead East Islip (6-2). Joe Modica had a 7-yard run in the third quarter that gave East Islip a 6-0 lead. Amiel Perez and Justin Haas each had a sack for East Islip. Deer Park is 5-3.
Half Hollow Hills West 55, Copiague 22:Devante McFarlane had touchdown receptions of five and four yards in the first half as Hills West (4-4) jumped out to a 35-8 halftime lead.
Quarterback Jake Klose went 15 of 18 for 202 yards and three touchdowns and Chris Reilly rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Justin Higgins' 97-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter extended the Hills West lead to 55-16.
North Babylon 41, Centereach 7: Ryan Slane had 239 yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries, kicked three extra points and had an interception for North Babylon (6-2). Slane scored North Babylon's first four touchdowns, giving the Bulldogs a 28-0 lead after the third quarter.
Slane's longest touchdown came on a 63-yard run with 2:18 left in the first quarter. Dillon Davanzo and Jordan Meyers each rushed for touchdowns in the fourth quarter, and North Babylon had five sacks. Basiru Jobe had seven tackles. Centereach is 2-6.
