According to MSG Varsity's Jared Greenberg, Floyd rising senior Stacey Bedell has verbally committed to play football at Villanova next fall.
The running back/defensive back is expected to play offense for the Wildcats, who are weighing a decision to join the Big East. They currently play in the FCS (formerly Division I-AA.)
Bedell, a first-team Newsday All Long Island selection, reportedly chose Villanova over Stony Brook, Fordham, James Madison and Army.
Last season, he rushed for 1,658 yards and 18 touchdowns for the Suffolk Division I champion Colonials. He also made 105 tackles (49 solo) and two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown in the Long Island championship game.
Greenberg also reported on his Twitter feed that Eastpor-South Manor OL Sean Karl has committed to Virginia, and Half Hollow Hills West RB Devante McFarlane will play at Syracuse.
