BARNES BREAKS RECORD
Freeport’s Isaiah Barnes ran for six touchdowns, breaking an 11-year-old record set by North Babylon’s Omar Palmer and tied three other times. In addition, Barnes threw for another touchdown as Freeport beat Floyd, 62-35, in the Class I Long Island Championship. Those 62 points were an LIC record, as was the combined 97 points scored. Of the 533 total yards accumulated by Freeport, yet another LIC record, Barnes accounted for 331.
