Catching up to my partner, Nassau beat writer Chris Mascaro, here’s the first installment of my top 10 candidates for the Hansen Award, awarded to Suffolk’s best player.

They are listed alphabetically for a reason: This is an unofficial list that has no bearing on the voting that will be done by a committee in November. As with our Top 10 team rankings, these blogs are presented for the purpose of generating discussion and interest in high school football. They are one man’s opinion, subject to change from week to week as different candidates emerge.
