Heizman a winner for Commack
Ryan Heizman went 7 of 10 for 148 yards with two touchdowns to lead Commack to a 28-13 win over Connetquot yesterday in Suffolk I football. Heizman connected with Paul Maline on a 55-yard TD pass early in the second quarter to give Commack (3-5) a 14-7 lead. John Donovan had 16 carries for 128 yards and two TDs. David Rubino had 10 tackles and two sacks. Connetquot is 2-6.
Patchogue-Medford 21, Central Islip 6: Chris Makulik had 20 carries for 93 yards and two sacks to lead Patchogue-Medford (4-4). Connor Coughlin had a 35-yard interception return for a TD with 4:32 left in the third quarter to give the Red Raiders a 14-6 lead. Mike McKey had 11 tackles and a fumble recovery and Dominick Fucci had an interception and a fumble recovery. Central Islip is 0-8.
Sachem North 53, Lindenhurst 28: Dalton Crossan had 22 rushes for 285 yards and five TDs plus seven tackles for Sachem North (7-1). Malik Pierre had five carries for 72 yards and two TDs in the win. Vincent Provanzeno had 10 tackles, one interception and a blocked punt. Lindenhurst is 5-3.
Longwood 35, Ward Melville 0: Sophomore Chris Faison rushed for a career-high 168 yards on 15 carries and two TDs for Longwood (7-1). Davonte Booker added 82 yards on nine carries and a touchdown. Ward Melville is 2-6.
