Jake Carlock helps Babylon get record 38 first-quarter points
Free safety Jake Carlock returned an interception 26 yards for a touchdown and two minutes later took a punt back 41 yards for a touchdown as Babylon did all of its scoring 3:30 into the first quarter of a 38-0 win over Greenport-Southold in Suffolk IV football on Friday.
The 38 first-quarter points were a school record for Babylon (3-0).
Nick Santorelli completed all three of his passes, including a 10-yard touchdown to Alec Zamet. Zamet also returned an interception 25 yards for a score.
Sophomore Shawn Tripp rushed for 65 yards on 11 carries in his varsity debut.
Babylon recovered four fumbles, and Eric Schweitzer, Joe Mankiewicz, and Greg Rueda each had a sack for the Panthers.
