James Burns passes for 117 yards, runs for TD to lead Port Washington
James Burns completed five passes for 117 yards and a touchdown run for a 5-yard score to lead Port Washington to a 28-13 win over Jericho in Nassau V football.
Aaron Underwood caught an 80-yard touchdown pass with 1:20 left in the third quarter to give Port Washington a 28-3 lead. Port Washington (6-1) will play for the Nassau V regular-season title Saturday against Long Island Lutheran. Long Island Lutheran 42, St. Dominic 12: Tiquan Garner carried three times for 95 yards and two touchdowns and returned a kickoff 90 yards for a score to lead Long Island Lutheran (7-0) in non-league. Garner had 240 yards of total offense on six touches.
Anthony McCoy had 83 yards and a touchdown on five carries and Jordan Weeks scored on a 34-yard run as Long Island Lutheran totaled 356 yards on the ground. McCoy, Weeks and Ethan Beauman had six tackles each for the Crusaders.
St. Dominic dropped to 0-7.
