John Daniggelis leads Smithtown East in Suffolk II

John Daniggelis' interception ended Half Hollow Hills West's final drive of the game, and he paced Smithtown East (2-2) on both sides of the ball in the Bulls' 20-13 victory yesterday in Suffolk II.
Daniggelis connected with Lucas Hoffmann for a 24-yard touchdown late in the third quarter to put Smithtown East up 17-7 and was 9-for-15 for 125 yards and two touchdowns. He ran for 182 yards on 17 carries.
Riverhead 40, Bay Shore 18: Jeremiah Cheatom ran for 264 yards and three scores on 41 carries to lead Riverhead (3-1). Cheatom capped a seven-minute, 12-play drive in the third quarter with a 37-yard touchdown run where he broke three tackles to put Riverhead up 27-6. Middle linebacker Raheem Brown had eight tackles, and Jaron Greenridge, a free safety, had seven tackles.
Whitman 34, Copiague 8: Jaron Batts caught two TD passes, returned a punt for another and passed for a score to lead Whitman (1-3). His 66-yard punt return with three minutes left in the third gave the Wildcats a 34-0 lead. Parrish Respass threw for two touchdowns, both to Batts.
Newfield 53, Centereach 0: Josh Hanna had 161 yards and three rushing TDs on 12 carries to lead Newfield (2-2). Cornerback Elijah Riley, in tight coverage, made an interception and raced down the sideline for a 55-yard TD, giving Newfield a 34-0 lead in the third quarter. Walter Heitz had two sacks and two solo tackles.
Central Islip 64, West Babylon 41: Kevin Mowatt rushed for 361 yards and five TDs on 26 carries to lead Central Islip (2-2) Friday. Mowatt had scoring runs of six, 10, 30, and 65 yards through the first three quarters, and scored on a 75-yard run to make it 50-18, 10 seconds into the fourth. Mowatt, who turned the corner on a power run and went untouched to the end zone on the play, was pulled from the game after that score.
