Deon Ray broke up two passes on the final possession to stall a Herricks drive on the Long Beach 45 in the Marines’ 28-22 win over Herricks in Nassau I.

Long Beach (2-1) junior tailback Tyler Ferguson (six carries, 132 yards) had a 39-yard touchdown run to give the Marines a 27-22 lead. Sam Oppenheim, who was 4-for-4 on PATs, added the extra point with about two minutes to go. Joe O’Donahue caught a 5-yard pass, fumbled the ball inside the 1, but teammate Marquis Stephens fell on the ball for a touchdown that gave Long Beach a 21-16 lead late in the third quarter.

Massapequa 21, Freeport 13: Owen Glascoe had two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble, a 13-yard interception return for a touchdown, and made eight tackles to lead Massapequa (2-1). Kenny Galvin completed eight passes, all to wide receiver Garrett Gibbons, for 125 yards and a touchdown. Galvin added nine rushes for 51 yards and Gibbons had eight rushes for 67 yards. Angelo Petrakis carried the ball 15 times for 60 yards and a touchdown. Connor Payne led the Chiefs with 10 tackles.

Uniondale 35, Westbury 0: Danny Ashley ran 14 times for 149 yards and three touchdowns and had an interception to lead Uniondale (2-1). Damion Collins ran for 62 yards and a touchdown on five carries, and quarterback Jawuan Shuford ran for 72 yards and completed both passes he attempted for 30 yards and a touchdown. Chamarc Chouloute had 10 tackles and forced a fumble.

East Meadow 27, Hicksville 6: Stephen Calderaro had three carries for 120 yards and two touchdowns and Mike Dolley added four carries for 58 yards and two touchdowns to lead East Meadow (2-1). Dolley also added eight tackles and two sacks. Eddie Buckhaults had six tackles and two sacks.

Hempstead 22, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK 3: Tylique Walker rushed for 51 yards on four carries with one rushing touchdown to lead Hempstead (2-1). Dawshawn Meadors had nine carries for 46 yards and one rushing touchdown. Amara Koroma made a 29-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter. He also kicked a 30-yard field goal in the second quarter. Meadors made 14 tackles.

Baldwin 34, Syosset 14: Kenroy Cummings had 17 carries for 161 yards and three touchdowns, including a 45-yard run in the fourth quarter to lead Baldwin (1-2). Thomas Airey caught a 61-yard pass from Messiah Floyd-Gordon for a touchdown to end the scoring in the first half. Floyd-Gordon was 3-for-6 with 76 yards and a TD. Eric Manigault had 15 carries for 55 yards and a touchdown. Airey had a crucial sack and made nine tackles.
