Minicozzi's 231 yards, 4 TDs lead Locust Valley

Alexander Minicozzi rushed for 231 yards on 11 carries and scored four touchdowns for Locust Valley in a 53-27 win over Valley Stream North Saturday in Nassau Conference IV football.

Eamonn Boyd rushed for 46 yards on four carries with two touchdowns and William Mitry caught a 30-yard scoring pass. Sam Casella had seven tackles, Kevin Reiger added six tackles, and Thomas McNamara blocked a punt to set up the first touchdown of the game for Locust Valley (2-3). North is 0-5.

Malverne 34, Friends Academy 19: Cory Alexander rushed for 88 yards and two TDs and had an interception for Malverne (1-4). Drake Taylor rushed for 114 yards and a TD and Tyrae Kelly threw two TDs. Max Fequiere had seven tackles and a sack. Friends Academy is 2-3.

Mineola 35, Oyster Bay 0: Steve Napolitano had nine carries for 177 yards and two TDs and Rob Clarkin was 5-for-7 for 77 yards and a TD and one rushing TD for Mineola (3-2). Joe Massaro had 11 tackles and four assists to lead a defense that held Oyster Bay (1-4) to 70 yards of total offense.Floral Park 14, Island Trees 7: Ronell Jones scored on a 70-yard TD run on the opening play of the second quarter to give Floral Park (3-2) a 14-7 lead. Island Trees had the ball on the Floral Park 20-yard line with a little more than a minute to play and faced a fourth-and-5. Chris Jimenez and Mike Tangredi stopped the receiver six inches from a first down. Down 7-0, Casey Giarrantana connected with Jimenez for a 15-yard TD with 6:08 left in the first half to tie it. Island Trees is 2-3.
