Nicky Cairo rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries in Oceanside’s 14-12 win over Massapequa in Nassau Conference I on Saturday. The Sailors ended Massapequa’s 16-game winning streak that dated back to April 24, 2021. Cairo also stopped Massapequa’s potential game-tying two-point attempt after Tyler Villalta scored a 1-yard rushing touchdown with 5:41 remaining in the game. Simon Wareham had an interception on the opening drive of the second half to give Oceanside (2-3) a key possession. Miles McGann had nine tackles and Alessio Ancona converted on both of his point-after attempts. Paul Dulanto threw a 12-yard pass to Ryan Fountain for the first score of the game for Massapequa.
Farmingdale 41, Freeport 32: Sal Posillico rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries to lead Farmingdale (5-0) in Nassau I. Anthony Licci was 6-for-6 for 109 yards and two touchdowns and Joe Burriesci had three receptions for 79 yards and a touchdown. Trevor Gayron had 16 tackles and Joe Bleck added 14 tackles. Tomaso Ramos had a 41-yard touchdown run to give Farmingdale a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. CJ Mangio had a 17-yard touchdown reception from Licci, which was followed by a two-point conversion pass by Burriesci to Carmine Scardina, giving Farmingdale a 41-22 lead in the fourth quarter.
Syosset 27, East Meadow 20: Mustafa Mozawalla passed for three touchdowns and added a 30-yard rushing touchdown for the game’s first score for Syosset (3-2). He had a 51-yard touchdown pass to Andy Zuleta to give Syosset a 27-13 lead in the second quarter. Carter Mandel added a 17-yard touchdown reception and Nicholas Padula had a 29-yard touchdown reception. Brian Terino had two touchdown receptions from Brandon Tauber for East Meadow.
Uniondale 30, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK 14: Darius Adeyemi rushed nine times for 84 yards and two touchdowns for Uniondale (1-4). Oladipiu Karimiu added 65 rushing yards and a touchdown and Jason Galdamez converted a 35-yard field goal and three extra points. Tristin Greenwood had nine tackles. Luis Lizama and Jordyn Davis added eight and seven tackles, respectively.
Baldwin 39, Port Washington 12: Vaughdrea Johnson was 4-for-8 for 70 yards and one touchdown and added 64 rushing yards and a touchdown on 10 carries for Baldwin (4-1). Anthony Byron rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on 13 attempts. Jadis Chenet caught a touchdown pass and returned one of his two interceptions for a touchdown. Shane Mauldin added 72 yards on the ground on nine attempts, scoring the game’s first touchdown.
Hempstead 27, Hicksville 8: Jakkai Stith rushed for 93 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries to lead Hempstead (5-0). Stith also threw for 96 yards and a touchdown. Dwyane Meadors rushed for 104 yards on eight carries and added a touchdown reception. Jamir Andrews added 63 yards rushing and 69 receiving yards. Vincent Lubrano scored the only touchdown for Hicksville on a one-yard run. Lubrano also converted on the two-point conversion of a pass from Frank Barravechia.
Valley Stream Central 14, Westbury 0: Jurrell Leitzsey found Jaden Fox for a 10-yard touchdown on play action to give Valley Stream Central a 14-0 lead with six minutes left in the third quarter. Joshua Rogers rushed in a 2-yard touchdown to give Valley Stream Central (2-3) a 7-0 lead in the second quarter.
