Nassau Conference I Week 7 roundup
Henry Wang blocked a 25-yard field goal to seal a 14-13 win for Syosset over Port Washington in Nassau Conference I on Friday.
Port Washington (3-4) drove from its 19-yard line to Syosset’s 8-yard line and attempted the field goal with 1:40 remaining in the game. William Cawley’s 4-yard TD run and Robert Crehan’s extra point had given Syosset (5-3) a one-point lead. Cawley had two TD runs.
Oceanside 28, Valley Stream Central 0: Cole Parker rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns for Oceanside (4-3). Parker started the game with a three-yard rushing touchdown. He added a 35-yard run for touchdown. Isaiah Spivey added 95 yards rushing and a touchdown. Shane Harmon threw for 144 yards. Brian Kraemer recovered two fumbles.
Hicksville 28, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK/Jericho 12: Frank Barravechia ran for 134 yards, two touchdowns and made 10 tackles to lead Hicksville (1-6). Eshan Paramjit had three sacks for Hicksville.
Freeport 12, Baldwin 0: Martese Davenport had a 10-yard TD run with 2:04 left in the game to give Freeport (3-4) a 12-0 lead. Nazair Jean-Lubin had a 28-yard touchdown pass to Jayden Gordon. D’Angelo Gordon rushed for 72 yards and made 12 tackles, including five for a loss. Yvan Neas had 9 1⁄2 tackles, including two for a loss. Landon Daley also had 9 1⁄2 tackles, including a sack. Jaheem Clenant had two interceptions.
Uniondale 17, East Meadow 7: Oladipiu Karimu hit Jordan Acosta on an 11-yard touchdown pass and had a 48 yard touchdown run to lead Uniondale (3-4). Karimu rushed for 151 yards in the game. Jordyn Davis made eight tackles, had two sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Hempstead 42, Westbury 0: Dwayne Meadors rushed for three touchdowns to lead Hempstead (6-1). Meadors finished with 117 yards. Jakkai Stith added 93 rushing yards and a touchdown. Stith also threw for 95 yards and a touchdown. Ziyair Jones recovered a fumble and returned it for a TD.
