Nassau Conference III Week 5 roundup
Chase McLoughlin carried 25 times for 121 yards and three touchdowns in Floral Park’s 31-27 win over Lynbrook in Nassau Conference III football Saturday. McLoughlin’s third touchdown capped a 12-play drive to give Floral Park (2-3) a 31-21 lead with less than two minutes remaining. Ryan Connolly was 8-for-12 passing for 126 yards and a 34-yard touchdown pass to Josh Lewis. Michael Fagan ran for two touchdowns from 60 and 35 yards out and added a receiving score as time expired for Lynbrook.
Division 16, Glen Cove 8: Cody Brush was 10-for-12 for 127 yards and added a rushing touchdown for Division (1-4). Jason Dooley rushed for 167 yards and one touchdown on 22 carries. Brandon Galarza kicked a 38-yard field goal in the third quarter to give Division a 16-0 lead. Jack Pendergrass and Hunter Stimac combined for 17 tackles and one sack.
Manhasset 42, Roosevelt 13: Matt Cargiulo rushed for three touchdowns and made 11 tackles for Manhasset (3-2). Cargiulo also threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Tintle to give Manhasset a 21-7 lead in the second quarter. Jack Mulholland had 13 tackles and forced two fumbles. Tintle added an interception.
Valley Stream North 27, Hewlett 6: Josh Lopez rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries and added a two-point conversion run and 10 tackles for Valley Stream North (2-3). Nick Naumov was 10-for-16 for 156 yards and added a 9-yard rushing touchdown. Danny Rojas rushed for a 1-yard touchdown to give Valley Stream North a 20-6 lead in the third quarter. Terry Medor had a 40-yard punt return for the final touchdown.
Wantagh 28, Carey 6: Nick Cupelli ran for 267 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries for Wantagh (5-0). Joe Legovich completed 5-of-7 passes for 55 yards and ran for a touchdown. Antony Tsakos and Noah Corwin each had eight tackles. Cupelli added seven tackles for Wantagh. Nico Zervos was 4-for-4 on extra-point attempts.
