Nassau Conference III Week 6 football roundup
Lynbrook 47, Valley Stream North 21: Michael Fagen ran for 189 yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries as Lynbrook defeated Valley Stream North, 47-21, in Nassau Conference III football on Saturday. He also threw a 63-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Shapiro.
Chris Benson rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown on 12 carries. Ramon Calderon had 10 tackles and a sack and Chris Volpe had an interception for Lynbrook (3-3).
Bethpage 40, Division 8: Will McMullen rushed for 144 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown run, on 12 carries for Bethpage (4-2). Sean Smith completed 3 of 7 passes for 44 yards and a touchdown.
Plainedge 42, Hewlett 7: Joe Cassese rushed for 144 yards and two scores on seven carries, including a 70-yard touchdown on the first play for Plainedge (6-0). Jake Anglim had five carries for 35 yards and two touchdowns. Cade Morra was 3-for-3 for 88 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown pass to Vincent Cavaliere. Shane Mosia had 13 tackles, including three for a loss.
Wantagh 42, Floral Park 0: Nick Cupelli rushed for 267 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries for Wantagh (6-0). Cupelli also ran back a 60-yard punt return for a touchdown. He capped off his day with his third touchdown, a 95-yard rush to put Wantagh up 42-0 in the fourth quarter. Cupelli also had eight tackles on defense.
Joe Legovich threw for 87 yards and one touchdown. Timmy Hennig ran back an 80-yard kickoff return in the second half. Antony Tsakos led the team with 12 tackles and an interception.
Carey 35, Roosevelt 14: Matt Metzger completed 11 of 18 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns for Carey (4-2). Will Tolliver rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries and Ben Rose rushed for 79 yards on 11 carries, including a 20-yard touchdown to give Carey a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Michael Verderosa had 74 receiving yards and TJ Wakely 36 receivingyards and a touchdown.
Manhasset 28, Glen Cove 8: James Lapina rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries and had a 22-yard touchdown reception for Manhasset (4-2). Jack Mulholand rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown on eight carries and had 11 tackles and two sacks.
