Nassau Conference IV Week 7 roundup

Joe Filocamo had an 86-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown with 5:06 left in the fourth quarter to break a tie at 28 as Island Trees defeated Clarke, 35-28, in Nassau Conference IV on Saturday.

Ben Quinn hit the quarterback on a third-and-8 option run to force the game-changing fumble.

Matt Norberg had a sack on fourth-and-8 at the Clarke 47-yard line with 2:30 left. Mike Coppeto had a 61-yard touchdown run after breaking three tackles to tie the score at 28 with nine minutes left in the fourth quarter for Island Trees (4-3). Coppeto rushed for 113 yards on 10 carries and caught a six-yard touchdown.

East Rockaway 42, Oyster Bay 13: John Giannotti rushed for 194 yards and four touchdowns to lead East Rockaway (3-4). Giannotti totaled five touchdowns on the day, the final on a 76-yard reception from Tyler Hyland. Hyland threw for 118 yards and one touchdown.

West Hempstead 21, Malverne 7: Corey Pierre scored three touchdowns, including an 83-yard interception return as time expired to lead West Hempstead (6-1). Pierre rushed for 104 yards and two TDs.

Valley Stream South 34, Lawrence 8: Daiyaan Mir rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries to lead Valley Stram South (3-4). Prince Meeks made three catches for 52 yards and a touchdown.

Mineola 42, Carle Place / Wheatley 14: Tommy Renner ran for 62 yards and two TDs and had two INTs to lead Mineola (6-1). Jack McCormack scored on runs of 65 and 60 yards. Joaquin Cruz had four tackles for a loss.

Seaford 32, Locust Valley 14: Devon O’Donnell caught two touchdowns, made nine tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery to lead Seaford (5-2).

North Shore 49, Cold Spring Harbor 27: Nick Livoti rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns on three carries to lead North Shore (7-0). James Toner returned an interception 51 yards for a touchdown.
