Gerard Cunningham connected with Brendan Smith for the a 36-yard touchdown pass with 2:06 left in the fourth quarter to lift second-seeded MacArthur to a 22-16 win over No. 7 Elmont Saturday in a Nassau II football quarterfinal. Cunningham ran in the two-point conversion to give MacArthur (8-1) its final six-point margin. Smith had five catches for 93 yards and Cunningham completed 8 of 15 passes for 160 yards. Tom Kelleher rushed for two TDs to give MacArthur a 14-8 lead at the half. Kelleher had 159 rushing yards on 34 carries. Elmont is 4-5. MacArthur will play Wantagh in a semifinal at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hofstra.
