Aaron Dawson rushed for 326 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries, breaking his own school record of 260 rushing yards, to lead No. 3 Clarke to a 43-6 win over No. 6 Carle Place/Wheatley in a Nassau IV football quarterfinal Saturday. Dawson ran 82 yards for a touchdown 21 seconds into the second half to extend Clarke's lead to 23-0. Dawson also had a 73-yard TD run. Corey Rosenbloom rushed for 56 yards, including a 44-yard touchdown, on four carries. The Rams (7-2) play No. 2 Seaford Thursday at Hofstra.Seaford 47, Friends Academy 6: Danny Roell ran for 230 yards and five touchdowns on 23 carries to lead No. 2 Seaford over No. 7 Friends Academy in a quarterfinal. Nick Couvaris ran for 160 yards and a touchdown on seven carries, and had an interception. Nick Calandra and Andrew Pich also had interceptions for Seaford (8-1). Locust Valley 47, Malverne 0: John Pedranghelu ran for 165 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries, and he also had an interception to lead No. 1 Locust Valley over No. 8 Malverne in a quarterfinal. Pedranghelu opened the scoring with an 11-yard touchdown run and he also had a 30-yard touchdown run to help Locust Valley (9-0) take a 27-0 lead in the first quarter. Tom Talenti added 108 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries and Christian Casazza had a sack and an interception for Locust Valley. It was Locust Valley's fifth shutout of the season. The Falcons will face No. 5 West Hempstead Thursday at Hofstra.
West Hempstead 42, East Rockaway 7: Tommy Cannisi ran for 140 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries to lead No. 5 West Hempstead (6-3) over No. 4 East Rockaway in a quarterfinal. He broke off a 34-yard touchdown run to give his team a 14-0 lead in the second quarter. The Rams went 80 yards on their first drive of the second half, and Ryan Sandberg threw a 24-yard TD pass to Noel Beaubrun to go up 21-0 with 7:33 left in the third.
