Johnnie Akins ran for 326 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries to lead Roosevelt in a 35-14 win over North Shore yesterday in Nassau IV.

After North Shore's Michael Floccari hit Nick Daley with a 40-yard touchdown to pull the Vikings within seven, Akins answered with a 69-yard touchdown scamper to give the Rough Riders a 22-7 lead with 50 seconds left in the first half.

The tailback broke loose on the outside and cut back inside, outrunning the pursuit. Akins also scored a 55-yard TD on Roosevelt's opening play of the third quarter.

Shamari Kirkpatrick ran for 49 yards, including a second-quarter touchdown, for Roosevelt (2-0).

Raymond Jones had two sacks and Rob Hanson made four tackles.

Seaford 35, Malverne 8: Justin Cestro ran for 196 yards and a TD for Seaford (2-0). Cestro's 12-yard fumble return for a score with 1:34 left in the second quarter gave the Vikings a 28-0 lead.

Island Trees 42, Oyster Bay 0: Quarterback Brian Eletti ran for 146 yards and three touchdowns for Island Trees (1-1). His first score, a 7-yard scamper, gave Island Trees a 14-0 lead with 8:55 left in the second quarter. He also broke free for an 86-yard touchdown with 8:48 left in the third quarter.

John Pascalli added 54 yards and two touchdowns. Joe Piscopio had nine tackles and an interception.

Valley Stream North 35, East Rockaway 12: Brian Carroll ran for 111 yards and two touchdowns, including a 3-yard score that gave Valley Stream North a 20-12 lead in the third quarter. Pat Brady lead the offensive line, which allowed the Spartans to dominate on the ground.

Mike DiRico added 85 yards and a touchdown, and had a 14-yard touchdown catch from Joe Ruscillo. Ruscillo also ran for 20 yards and a score. Brady had 11 tackles and two sacks.

Clarke 41, Cold Spring Harbor 7:Quarterback Peter Falgiano ran for 93 yards and a score to lead Clarke (1-1). Falgiano's 11-yard TD run gave the Rams a 27-0 lead with 5:47 left in the second quarter.

Aaron Dawson rushed for 44 yards and two touchdowns. Luis Hungria, Joe Truono and Pablo Villacorta-Benitez each had a rushing touchdown. Tyler Constantine made seven tackles for Clarke.

West Hempstead 35, Mineola 7: Enrique McFarland ran for 212 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries to lead West Hempstead (2-0).

Jarhari Creightney ran for a 60-yard touchdown on the Rams' first play from scrimmage. Bruce Gibbs' 47-yard TD run with 4:22 left in the second quarter gave West Hempstead a 21-7 lead.

McFarland and Vinny Messina each made nine tackles and Donovan Steele had two sacks.
