Nassau Conference I

Massapequa 38, Freeport 14: Frank Romano returned a punt for a 55-yard touchdown and added an interception while Tyler Villalta scored four total touchdowns (two rushing, two receiving) in Massapequa’s 38-14 win over visiting Freeport on Friday. Joey Diesso led Massapequa (1-1) under center, completing 10 of 11 passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns. Jayden Gordon caught a 42-yard touchdown and threw a 10-yard score to Glen Person III for Freeport.

Hempstead 18, Valley Stream Central 6: Jonathan Davis kicked off the game with a 7-yard rushing score for host Hempstead and later added a 35-yard touchdown pass on fourth down to Josh Haigler. Jazir Lofton intercepted a pass in the end zone with just three seconds left in the first half to keep Hempstead in front. Deangelo Leonard then opened the second half with an 85-yard kickoff return touchdown. Omarre Gantt ran in a 7-yard TD for Valley Stream Central.

Oceanside 50, Herricks 20: Jayden Belone scored on a 80-yard kickoff return to lead host Oceanside (2-0). Shane Harmon completed 5 for 6 for 100 yards and two touchdowns, and Dylan Bender had two receptions for 56 yards and two touchdowns. Peter Gavaris had a 45-yard touchdown run for Herricks (0-1).

Farmingdale 37, Westbury 0: Dennis Finkel passed for 136 yards and three touchdowns while completing all but one of his nine passing attempts for host Farmingdale. Gavin Gatchalian caught three passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns, and Josh Kama rushed for 70 yards on nine carries and two TDs. On defense, Chris Ruotolo had three tackles and a sack while Michael Galgano forced two turnovers. Rocco Martillotti led the defense with eight tackles.

Syosset 35, East Meadow 6: Ethan Dizon threw three touchdown passes for host Syosset. William Cawley caught a 38-yard TD pass and ran in an 8-yard score. Jack Boccafola made all five of his PATs. Jayson Costabile punched in a 2-yard rushing touchdown for East Meadow.

Port Washington 36, Hicksville 6: Christian Sarchese had four carries for 119 yards and three touchdowns to lead visiting Port Washington. Harry Eynon completed 4 of 6 passes for 44 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday. Harry Behan had two catches for 30 yards and a touchdown. James Kinsey recovered two fumbles, and Ryan Abend had four tackles, a tackle for loss and a sack for Port Washington (2-0). Julian Woskowiak had a 39-yard touchdown run for Hicksville (1-1).

Nassau Conference II

New Hyde Park 13, Roosevelt 12: Andrew Notine threw a 55-yard touchdown pass to Nick Garofalo as time expired to tie the game, leading Brendan Rooney to hit the winning extra point to lift host New Hyde Park football to a 13-12 win over Roosevelt on Saturday. Notine completed 5 of 8 passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Lukas Rinaldi rushed 16 times for 85 yards and had eight tackles. Tito Ruiz had four receptions for 40 yards and carried the ball nine times for 40 yards and one touchdown. Kenyon Brown rushed for 135 yards for Roosevelt.

Baldwin 19, Sewanhaka 14: Jelani Williams ran for 143 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries to lead Baldwin in its home opener. Angel Johnson completed 9 of 18 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown. Prosper Prawl had 14 receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown.

Long Beach 28, Calhoun 7: Wyatt Katzen scored three rushing touchdowns and broke five tackles during his 53-yard touchdown run for Long Beach. Charlie Conway completed 11 of 16 passes for 200 yards, including a 20-yard touchdown pass to Max Schimel. Danny Correa caught three passes for 90 yards. Leo Muskin had a sack.

Carey 40, Glen Cove 21: Chris Obertis threw for 85 yards and three touchdowns to lead host Carey. Joncarlo Carbone added 43 yards on the ground, scoring twice. Billy Koutsoumbaris, Max Wright and Nick Medoro all caught a TD pass. Justin DePietro took nine carries for 72 yards and a score. He added six tackles and a sack on defense. Matt Smith and Luca Cirotti each had five tackles. Devon Gonzalez rushed for two touchdowns for Glen Cove, as well as a two-point conversion. JP Riccardi added another score on the ground in the fourth quarter.

Jericho 25, Roslyn 21: James Wang rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns for host Jericho on Friday. Max Spector completed 10 of 19 passes for 100 yards and slung a 16-yard TD pass to Donnivin Jones. Andrew Han had an interception. Ethan Yevab threw two touchdown passes for Roslyn, finding Frank Moscati and Khy’ven Emile for scores. Marius Ferraro returned a fumble 27 yards for a touchdown.

Nassau Conference III

Clarke 20, Bellmore JFK 16: Matt Kurz threw for 127 yards and rushed for two touchdowns, including the game-winner with one minute left in the fourth quarter, to lead Clarke to a 20-16 win over Bellmore JFK on Friday. Liam Morgan sealed the game with an interception for Clarke (2-0) on the ensuing drive. Jake Thakkar added 87 yards rushing with a TD.

Clarke’s defense had a crucial goal-line stand in the fourth quarter to keep it a one-possession game. Charlie Gampero ran 11 times for 134 yards and two TDs for Bellmore JFK (0-2) while Jaden Celestin added another 128 rushing yards on 15 carries.

Manhasset 48, Division 14: Atif Heathington ran the ball six times for 193 yards and two touchdowns and sweetened his day with a 99-yard kickoff return TD in the third quarter for host Manhasset (2-0). Danny Kolin had an 18-yard touchdown and an interception, and Matt Infranco caught a 70-yard score. Drew Schwartz had one rushing and one passing touchdown. Jason Dooley caught a 16-yard touchdown from Timothy Stanley for Division (1-1).

Elmont 20, Hewlett 6: Dom Collins had 112 receiving yards, including a 47-yard touchdown for the game’s first score, to lead host Elmont to a win in its season opener on Saturday. Keyoun Kahan scored a 60-yard rushing touchdown. The Spartans defense forced two fumbles. Matt DeCicco scored a 3-yard rushing TD for Hewlett (0-2).

Garden City 38, Floral Park 3: Michael Berkery ran 15 times for 129 yards and two touchdowns to lead Garden City (2-0). He added a sack on defense. Anthony Asaro contributed 50 yards and a touchdown on five carries, while Ruckh Merit rushed four times for 63 yards. Asaro also caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Brayden Robertiello. On defense, Blake Cascadden led the team with four tackles and a sack.

Bethpage 40, Valley Stream North 13: Anthony Petrucelly needed only eight carries to record 103 rushing yards and a touchdown, as well as a sack on defense for Bethpage (1-1). He caught a 21-yard touchdown from Anthony Guarasci, who completed 4 of 5 passing attempts for 139 yards and three touchdowns. James LiPetri had three catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns

Lynbrook 35, South Side 14: Paolo Palleschi ran 11 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns, and Bennett Votano caught three passes for 121 yards and a touchdown to lead Lynbrook (1-1). Gio Ortiz added an 18-yard touchdown reception. Joseph McHale completed 5 of his 10 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, Frank Sirufo dominated with three sacks.

Nassau Conference IV

West Hempstead 29, Valley Stream South 28: Jayden Higginson rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries, including the game-winning 52-yard score with 2:19 left in the fourth quarter, to lead visiting West Hempstead football to a 29-28 win over Valley Stream South. Christian Dildy opened the game with a 90-yard touchdown run, and Bryan Tator carried in a 24-yard TD. Daniel Casey added two touchdowns on the ground for Valley Stream South (0-2) and threw a 59-yard score to Peter Greif.

Oyster Bay 46, Lawrence 15: Joe Henry finished with 158 yards on 13 carries, scoring four touchdowns for host Oyster Bay (1-1). Anthony Schiedet added 57 rushing yards and two touchdowns on five carries. Schiedet, Dylan Romano and Ben Albert all recorded seven tackles. Tevin Johnson scored on a 65-yard kickoff return for Lawrence.

Seaford 28, Island Trees 6: Brian Falk ran 18 times for 230 yards and two touchdowns to lead host Seaford. Ayden McNamara added six carries for 74 yards and a touchdown. Max Kasparian went 4 for 4 on extra-point attempts. Michael Spinella completed 13 of his 18 passes for 105 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown to Kyle Britton. Brendan Draude had an interception.

Plainedge 42, East Rockaway 6: Dylan Fella rushed for three touchdowns, and Alec Anderson had 119 receiving yards for host Plainedge. Jaxson Torres connected with Jake Parpan through the air for a 60-yard TD to open the game. Jonluca Frucci was 6-for-6 on extra-point attempts. Anthony Grimaldi ran in a 21-yard score for East Rockaway.

Cold Spring Harbor 41, Carle Place 0: Alex Bauer starred for visiting Cold Spring Harbor, running for 171 yards and four touchdowns on 17 carries in its season opener. Brady McKean added 55 yards on four carries, including a 38-yard score. Chase Cody added a 10-yard TD run. Hunter Yulico blocked a punt and a field goal, and Cole Newman had an interception. Greyson Meak led the Seahawks with 12 tackles.

Wantagh 50, Malverne 0: Dylan Martini amassed 201 rushing yards and three touchdowns on just five rushes for Wantagh in its home opener. He also caught two passes for 74 yards. John Gendels, Oliver Lacobazzi, Tucker Icabozzi and Evan Lydon each added touchdowns. Isaiah Smith had 61 yards on 12 carries and completed 4 of 6 passing attempts for 56 yards.
