Phillips, Felder lift Whitman
Kenny Phillips threw an 8-yard TD pass to Darrell Felder with 29 seconds left, and Felder's run on a two-point conversion gave Whitman a 16-15 win over Sachem East yesterday in Suffolk Division I. Felder rushed for 70 yards on 15 carries and a TD, and Xavier Livingston ran for 117 yards with one TD for Whitman (1-3). Sachem East (0-4) took a 15-8 lead with 1:32 left on Mike Westerhaus' 8-yard run. Kenyatta Reynolds had 14 tackles and one sack.
Longwood 27, Northport 14: Devante Booker's 2-yard TD run gave Longwood (3-1) a 21-14 lead in the third quarter. Kavaughn Wiggins had 17 carries for 170 yards and two TDs and Booker added 16 carries for 72 yards and a TD. Northport is 1-3.Bay Shore 25, Central Islip 13:Karl Allison had 33 carries for 243 yards and two TDs for Bay Shore (2-2). Kevin Cox was 5-for-10 for 68 yards and ran 14 times for 81 yards. Rashaad Gray had 12 tackles, one interception and a fumble recovery and Ever Juarez had seven tackles and an interception. Central Islip is 1-3.Brentwood 36, Commack 14: Chris Green's 4-yard TD run gave Brentwood (2-2) a 21-14 lead with four minutes left in the third quarter. Green had 32 carries for 241 yards and Divine Daniels had nine tackles and an interception. Commack is 2-2.
Patchogue-Medford 6, Ward Melville 0: Joe Altrui scored on a 2-yard run in the second quarter and rushed for 90 yards on 16 carries for Patchogue-Medford (2-2). Nick Costanzo had 10 tackles and Carlos Torres had nine tackles for PM. Ward Melville is 1-3.
